Way of the Channeler[edit]

Monk Subclass

Channelers harness minor divine magic in addition to their Ki-based abilities. They use it to destroy their enemies, heal their allies, and see into the future. They use the schools of Divination and Evocation. Channelers often view themselves as superior to other monks due to their more powerful connection to their spirit, but as any Wild Magic Sorcerer knows, the spirit is temperamental at best, and so many of a Channeler's abilities rely on luck.

Channeled Spellcasting

Starting at 3rd level, You use your spirit to harness divine magic.

Cantrips: You learn 2 cantrips of your choice from the cleric spell list. You learn an additional cleric cantrip at 6th level and another at 12th level.

Spells Known of 1st-level or higher: You know three cleric spells of your choice. Two of them must be from the Divination or Evocation schools of magic, but one can be from any school of magic. You learn another spell at levels shown on the Channeler table. Each of these spells must be from the Evocation or Divination schools of magic, and must be of a level for which you have spell slots. For instance, when you reach 7th level in this class, you can learn 1 spell of 1st or 2nd level. The spells you learn at levels 8, 14 and 20 can be from any school of magic. Whenever you gain a level in this class, you can replace one of the spells you know with another from the cleric spell list. The new spell must be a Divination or Evocation spell, and it must be of a level for which you have spell slots, unless you are replacing one of the spells that you learned at levels 8, 14 or 20, in which case it can be from any school of magic.

Spellcasting Ability: Your spellcasting ability is Wisdom, since your magic relies on your attunement to, and control of your spirit. You use your Wisdom whenever a spell refers to your spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your Wisdom when setting the spell save DC for a Cleric spell you cast and when making an attack roll for one.

Spell Save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier.

Spell attack modifier = your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier.

Spell Slot Restoration

From 6th level onwards, you can spend 2 ki points to regain an expended 1st-level spell slot. At higher levels when you have higher level spell slots available, you can regain them too at a cost of (2*Spell slot level) Ki points.

Enhanced Channeling

From 11th level onwards, whenever you cast a Cleric spell, roll a d20. On a roll of 19 or 20, you do not expend a spell slot for that Spell. At 14th level, you regain the spell slot on a roll of 18-20.

Enlightened Channeling

Starting at 17th level, whenever you land a critical hit, you regain 1 spell slot. Roll 1d4 to find out it's level. If you haven't expended a spell slot of that level yet, you gain 1d8+Your Spellcasting Ability Modifier HP per level of the spell.
