Way of Unseen Hands[edit]
Monk Subclass
Monks who follow the unseen hand learn how to use their ki to create invisible constructs of telekinetic power, called Vectors or just "arms", to unleash havoc upon their enemies. Using this power alongside with their martial arts training, these monks can rush their opponents with a barrage of strikes before their opponents can even seen they are under any threat.
- Vectors
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level, you gain two Vectors - invisible arms made out of psychic power. You can grasp things with your vectors. They have a reach of 5 feet, and they can lift weights. You can use them to do the following simple tasks: lift, drop, hold, push, or pull an object or a creature; open or close a door or a container; deflect and grab a projectile with your Deflect Projectiles feature; grapple someone; or make an unarmed strike. Your DM might allow other simple tasks to be added to that list of options. It can't wield weapons or shields or do anything that requires manual precision, such as using tools or magic items or performing the somatic components of a spell.
Your vectors are considered to have a Strength score equal to your Wisdom score. Also, unarmed strikes made with the vectors cause force damage, rather than bludgeoning.
You gain additional vectors as you gain levels in this class: two additional at 6th, 11th and 17th levels.
- Maturing Vectors
At 6th level, the reach of your vectors increases to 10 feet, and can now also use your vectors to climb and cling on vertical surfaces (such as walls or ladders).
In addition, you gain special Actions you can use with your vectors, described below, which can be performed by spending 2 ki points:
- Vector Blitz. You can make a single unarmed strike using a vector, up to a number maximum of attacks equal to your current amount of vectors. You can attack each target once, and making a separate attack for each one of them.
- Energy Flood. One creature you touch gains the effect of a haste spell, lasting until the end of it's next turn.
- Ki Healing. One creature you touch regains hit points equal to a roll of your martial arts die + your Wisdom modifier.
- Sentient Vectors
At 11th level, your vectors gain a level of autonomy as they are subconsciously controlled by you. In combat, you get a special reaction that you can take once on every creature's turn, except your turn, up to a maximum of turns equal to the number of vectors you have. You can use this special reaction only to make an opportunity attack using a vector, and you can't use it on the same turn that you take your normal reaction.
- Full-Grown Vectors
At 17th level, you've reached the true potential of your vectors. When you use Flurry of Blows, you can spend an additional number of ki points up to your number of vectors, making one additional unarmed strike per ki point spent.
