Way of Sword Sage[edit]
Monk Subclass
Sword Sages are monks that spend years for master there fighting techniques with blades, most of them are training with swords or katanas, but sometimes they choose other weapons, like sabers, pole-arms, or even axes. Sages never stop studying new techniques in order to hone their skills
- Chosen Weapon.
When you choose this tradition at 3rd level choose one type of weapon. This weapon type will be your Chosen Weapon. These weapon type can be any Simple or Martial melee weapon that lacks the Heavy and Special properties. You gain proficiency with this weapon type if you don't already have it, and your Chosen Weapon is also considered to be a Monk Weapon. When you reach 6th, 11th, and 17th level in this class, you can choose another type of weapon, following the criteria above.
- Deflection.
When you choose this tradition at 3rd level, your Deflect Missiles feature changes. You can now use your reaction to deflect ranged, melee or spell attacks while you are holding a weapon. When you do so, the damage you take from the attack is reduced by 1d10 + your Dexterity Modifier + your Monk Level.
If you reduce the damage to 0, you can spend 1 ki point to perform a single energy slash with your Chosen Weapon. This energy slash can be made either as a melee or ranged attack (with a normal range of 20 feet and a long range of 60 feet).
• This attack deals your Chosen Weapon's damage die and damage type.
• When making this ranged attack while you are within 5 feet of a hostile creature, you do not have disadvantage on the attack roll.
- One With The Blade.
Starting at 6th level, your Chosen weapon count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to non-magical attacks and damage.
- Disruption Strike.
Starting at 6th level, you can attack a target's pressure points, hampering their defensive capabilities. When you hit another creature with a melee weapon attack, you can spend 1 ki point to make it a Disruption Strike. Your chosen target must make a Constitution saving throw. A target has their Armor Class reduced by -2 on a failed save, or -1 on a successful one. This effect lasts until the end of your next turn.
At 17th level, this Armor Class reduction increases to -3 on a failure.
- Master Yourself, Master the Blade.
Starting at 11th level, your skills with the blade is truly outstanding, now your can perform your Martial Arts and Flurry of Blows attacks using your Chosen weapon instead of an unarmed strike.
- Unerring Accuracy
At 17th level, your mastery of weapons grants you extraordinary accuracy. If you miss with an attack roll using a Chosen weapon on your turn, you can reroll it. You can use this feature only once on each of your turns.
