Way of Grappling[edit]

Monk Subclass

An Orc terrorises the bars patrons, and the barkeep is to scared to do anything against it. The orc is increasingly agitated against a small man standing in front of him who caused his date to run away. The agitation had risen, and finally the orc attacked. But the moment when the orc's fist made contact with the mans face, he was lift into the air and slammed to the ground, unable to leave the hands of a monk who was trained in the way of grappling.

Strike and be Struck

You have learned to move the ki through yourself and the air in fluid movements to create aggressive results. Starting at the 3rd level, when a creature attacks you or you attack it(if it is at most 2 sizes above you), you can immediately use either your reaction if you were attacked, or your bonus action if you were attacked, and a ki point to make the creature do a dexterity saving throw (the save DC is 8 + your dex mod + your prof bonus). If the creature fails the saving throw, it is automatically grappled by you. The creature uses the normal grapple rules to try and escape.

In addition, when you are grappling a creature, you can spend a ki point to make one of the following things:

Body Shield. Against an attack you can see, you can use your reaction to make the grappled creature take the damage instead.
Body Throw. You can spend 1 of your attacks during your action to throw the creature 10 feet away from you. The creature takes damage equal to your monk weapon dice.
Body Hold. As a bonus action, you can make the creature roll a strength saving throw. On a failed save, the creature becomes restrained.
Monsterous Grasp

You harness ki directly into your fists, causing immense strength to flow into them. Starting at the 6th level, when you use your entire action to only attack 1 creature, the creature has to make a dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, the creature has disadvantage on attack roles on any creature that is not you.

Grasping Criticality

You are an expert in attacking the creatures of which you hold. At the 11th level, when you make an unarmed strike against a creature of which you have grappled, you gain advantage. If the creature is restrained by your "Body Hold" feature, you instead automatically critically hit that creature.

In addition, you gain Advantage on Strength (Athletics) checks made to grapple creatures of at most 1 size larger than yours.

Grappling God

You have reached the peak in the art of grappling. Starting at the 17th level, you can grapple creatures of any size as long as you can get a firm grip on it.

Additionally, any creature you have grappled that tries to attack you cannot critically hit, and they critically fail if they roll a 1 or a 2.
