Wavecrest Gnome[edit]

Wavecrest gnomes are community-minded gnomes that typical live in seafaring and coastal communities. They are a jovial yet practical folk, favoring having a good time and relaxation over practical jokes and inventiveness. They are easily the most grounded, hard-working, and relatable subrace of the Forgotten Folk.

Ability Score Increase. Wavecrest gnomes are a hearty people. Your Constitution score increases by 1.
Innate Spellcasting. You grew up in a community where everyone needed to work together to survive, whether it was a fishing village, a part of a swashbuckling crew, or some other similar environment. You know the guidance and shape water cantrips. Starting at 5th level, you can also cast water breathing with this trait. Once you cast it, you cannot cast it again until you finish a long rest. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
Skillful Prodigy. While as clever as other gnomes, you focus your intellect into skills needed for survival rather than wasting them on pointless inventions or hiding in trees. You gain proficiency with one weapon, one skill, and one tool of choice. The weapon proficiency must be chosen from the following list: scimitar, spear, trident, javelin, or net.
Wily Combatant. When not wearing armor, your AC is equal to 10 + your Dexterity modifier + your Charisma modifier. Your people focus on dashing, over-the-top moves that distract and disorient your opponents.
