Waspling (3.5e Race)
From D&D Wiki
Waspling Workers[edit]
Personality[edit]
Physical Description[edit]
Waspling Workers look like a cross between a gnome and a bee. They are about 3-1/2 to 4 feet tall and weigh aproximately 55 pounds. They have four arms. Wasplings have soft fur covering most of their bodies, except their faces. The colour ranges from dark orange to bright yellow, and depends on the hive the waspling came from, and their role in the hive before they left. They have large black faces, and do not wear clothes. Workers mature at around 35, and typically live up to 120 years, although they can get to be 200 years old. Workers are only permitted to leave the hive at age 50.
Relations[edit]
Because of their secluded origins, wasplings are shy of other races, but they make friends relatively easily. They are more comfortable with elves and half-elves, who they often share territory with. Wasplings dislike half-orcs because of their crude and barbarish tendencies.
Alignment[edit]
Wasplings tend towards the neutral alignments mostly because they do not often come into contact with other races in the hive. Wasplings are always lawful.
Lands[edit]
Wasplings are always more comfortable in forests and other wooded places. They feel out of place in urban areas and tend to avoid them as much as they can. Waspling hives are always deep in the forest.
Religion[edit]
Religion is seen as a liability in the hive, but some wasplings worship Obad-Hai as the protector of nature and all things natural.
Language[edit]
Waspling is virtually impossible for anyone other than a waspling to speak, mostly because is is extremely difficult to get the average tongue to do what it's supposed to. It is also spoken so quickly that anyone who actually learns it won't be able to understand what the wasplings are saying anyway. Waspling are also incredibly reluctant to let anyone else learn their language.
Names[edit]
In the hive, waspling workers do not have names, and usually aquire nicknames from friends or companions based on their personalities.
