Warrior, Variant (5e Subclass)
Warrior[edit]
This is a fighter subclass, inspired heavily by the Core Rule Books Champion fighter subclass.
There are people who take the art of combat several steps further than their peers, who dedicate themselves not just to taking out the enemy, but training themselves to be the best they can be at what they do. This can take any number of forms, from those dedicated to being able to strike their opponent no matter the situation, or those who can find the smallest chink in an opponents armor, all have learned the importance of being able to hit an opponent even when the situation seems most dire.

Accurate[edit]
When a 3rd level fighter chooses this Martial Archetype at level 3, they gain the ability to hit an opponent automatically on a roll of a 19 or 20, regardless of if they are at disadvantage or if the attack would not hit due to an opponent's AC bonus, or if their chance to hit has been altered in some way. For example, let's say an opponent is wearing a cloak of displacement. A 3rd level Martial Warrior rolls twice for disadvantage. One of the rolls is a 20, and the other roll is a one, but because one of the rolls was a 20 he hits (But does not crit, he would need to roll 20 twice to crit.) A second example would be if the 3rd level Martial Warrior rolled a 16 and a 2, since he did not roll a 19 or 20 on one of the rolls, he missed the attack. This ability improves to 18-20 at 7th level, 17-20 at 10th level, and 16-20 at 15th level.
Focus[edit]
At 7th Level, the Warrior gains the ability to focus in on a target to make sure a strike connects, and hits where it will do the most harm. The Martial Warrior may use an attack action to make the next attack at advantage, which must be made within 2 combat rounds. Additionally, while this ability is active the Warrior is immune to spells and abilities that force them to re-roll a hit (abilities that force a re-roll of a critical still work on the Warrior unless they also have the ability "Veteran Accuracy." If this ability is used and combat ends before the subsequent attack is made the ability ends.
Critical Focus[edit]
Starting at 10th level, either when using the “focus” ability, or if you have advantage on an attack, if the attack connects and the ability “Accurate” also triggers the damage is maximized for that attack, and all damage rolls are automatically the highest they can roll. This includes extra dice from a critical hit.
Experienced[edit]
Starting at 15th level, if an opponent has a weakness or strength to a particular damage type used in an attack that the Martial Warrior sees, he can identify which kind of damage the opponent was weak or strong against. Further, he gains advantage on any rolls made to check if a monster or piece of equipment gives advantages or disadvantages to a particular damage type.
Veteran Accuracy[edit]
Starting at 18th level, if you hit with the ability “accurate,” your attack will be a critical hit if it would normally be a critical hit. Using the above example in the description of “accurate,” and making the Martial Warrior level 18 instead of 3, the two rolls against a cloak of displacement, (a 20 and a 1) would score a critical hit since a natural roll of 20 is a critical hit. Using this ability also makes you immune to abilities which make you re-roll a critical hit, but only during the turns the ability is used.
