Void Bringer (5e Subclass)
From D&D Wiki
Void Bringer[edit]
Warlock Subclass
Void Bringers are warlocks who have tapped into the primordial essence of the void, harnessing its mysterious power to reshape reality and manipulate the unseen forces that lie between worlds. By delving into the abyss, Void Bringers gain abilities that allow them to traverse the planes, control the flow of time, and bring forth the darkness itself.
Expanded Spell List[edit]
The Void Bringer lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.
Warlock Level | Spells |
---|---|
1st | bane, dissonant whispers |
2nd | blindness/deafness, silence |
3rd | phantom steed, pulse wave |
4th | gravity sinkhole, evard’s black tentacles |
5th | contact other plane, telekinesis |
Void Sight[edit]
Starting at 1st level, you gain the ability to see through the darkness that shrouds the void. You have darkvision with a range of 120 feet, and you can see in magical darkness as if it were dim light.
Void Step[edit]
At 1st level, you learn to traverse the void and move between planes with ease. As a bonus action, you can teleport up to 60 feet to an unoccupied space that you can see. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
Twisted Reality[edit]
At 6th level, your connection to the void allows you to twist and manipulate reality itself. You gain the following abilities:
- Void Shroud: As an action, you can shroud yourself in an aura of darkness. For 1 minute, you gain resistance to all damage except force damage, and you emit magical darkness in a 10-foot radius around you. The darkness moves with you, and it extends around corners. You can use this feature once, and you regain its use after finishing a long rest.
- Dimensional Shift: You can use your action to momentarily shift into the void, becoming ethereal for a brief period. Until the end of your next turn, you gain resistance to all damage, and you can move through creatures and objects as if they were difficult terrain. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
Void Mastery[edit]
At 10th level, you gain unparalleled control over the void, allowing you to bend time and space to your will. Once you use either of the options below, you can't use this feature again until you finish a long rest.
- Temporal Distortion: As an action, you can create a distortion in time around a creature within 30 feet of you. The creature must make a Wisdom saving throw against your warlock spell save DC. On a failed save, the creature is affected by a time dilation effect for 1 minute. During this time, the creature's speed is halved, it has disadvantage on attack rolls and Dexterity saving throws, and it can't take reactions. The creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success.
- Void Form: As an action, you can embrace the void and transform into a being of pure darkness and energy. For 1 minute, you have resistance to all damage except force damage, and your movement speed increases by 30 feet. In addition, when you hit with a melee spell attack, you can choose to deal force damage instead of the spell's normal damage type.
Eternal Abyss[edit]
At 14th level, you have become one with the eternal abyss, transcending the boundaries of mortal existence. You no longer require sleep and are immune to the effects of exhaustion.
In addition, as an action, you can open a gateway to the void. This creates a 30-foot radius sphere of magical darkness centered on a point you can see within 120 feet of you. The darkness spreads around corners and lasts for 1 minute. While in this darkness, you and your allies have advantage on attack rolls against creatures that rely on darkvision to see. Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
