Vasharan (5e Race Variant)
From D&D Wiki
Human Variant[edit]
A strange and vile culture of humans, little is truly known about them, other than that they hate and want to destroy the gods themselves.
Legend, however, says that they are descended from the gods' first attempt at creating humans. Almost immediately after creation, the vasharan swore death upon the gods who created it, earning their anger and disgust.
After killing their new creation to start anew and create what we now think of as humans, a demon brought it up to a plateau--where most of them now reside--and revived it, either created a mate for it to breed with or personally bred with it, and either left it to its own devices or was thanked for its efforts with death.
Other legends paint them in a more sympathetic and tragic light, claiming that these feelings were earned. Still others claim that the vasharan aren't actually evil at all, but misunderstood and unfairly generalized.
Whatever the truth is, few speak their name in anything other than a hushed whisper.
