Varagos (5e Race)
Varagoi[edit]
The Varags are the untamed children of the north, a fierce and brutal people born from the harsh winds and frozen tundra. Known for their unyielding nature and savage ways, the Varags are raiders and warriors — living in tight-knit, tribal clans that constantly struggle for dominance over the rugged, unforgiving northern lands. Their homes are scattered across the icy wastes, in the shadow of towering mountains and beneath the pale, ghostly light of the winter sun.-->

History[edit]
The Varags are the direct descendants of Bjornhall, the god of the ice, a deity as brutal and unforgiving as the land he governs. Bjornhall, a god of strength, survival, and ice, is revered as both father and warlord by his people. To the Varags, he is not just a god, but a symbol of their relentless fight for dominance. His cold, calculating nature is mirrored in their own hearts — they are a people who know that only the strongest survive in a world that offers no mercy.
Society[edit]
Their societies are not built on diplomacy or peace, but on the strength of their warriors and the cunning of their leaders. They are a matriarchal and patriarchal mix, where the strongest, regardless of gender, can rise to leadership. Clan leaders, known as the Jarl, are chosen not only for their combat prowess but also for their ability to outwit and outlast their rivals. The land of the Varags is one of constant struggle, where alliances are forged as easily as they are broken, and where the promise of power is never guaranteed for long.
