Vanguard (5e Subclass)
From D&D Wiki
Vanguard[edit]
Fighter Subclass
The archetypal Vanguard rushes headlong into the fray, engaging multiple enemies at once, forming a one-man barricade. Those who choose the path of the Vanguard are watchful guardians that hold little regard for their own lives.
- Front-Line Fighting
When you choose this fighter subclass at 3rd level, your movement speed increases by 10 feet.
Additionally, when you hit a hostile creature with a melee weapon attack, it deals an extra 2 points of damage for each other hostile creature within 5 feet of you.
- Steadfast Resolve
Starting at 3rd level, if your current hit points are less than half your maximum, you gain a +2 bonus to your AC.
- Veteran Reflexes
At 7th level, you gain proficiency in Dexterity saving throws and you may add your proficiency bonus to Initiative rolls.
- Improved Second Wind
At 10th level, the number of hit points gained when you use Second Wind increases to 2d10 + twice your fighter level.
- Hold the Line
Starting at 15th level, when you make an opportunity attack and hit, treat the attack as a critical hit. The hit creature’s speed becomes 0 for the rest of the turn.
- Last Stand
At 18th level, if your hit points are reduced to 0 and you aren't killed outright, you may use your reaction to make five attacks before falling unconscious. You can't use this feature again until you finish a long rest.
The amount of attacks increase to six at 20th level.
