Vælk[edit]

THIS RACE IS INTENDED TO BE USED WITH THE RULES FOUND HERE

Physical Description[edit]

Vælkim are twisted creatures, corrupted by dark magic and radiation. The appear vaguely human, the obvious difference being the colour. They are typically gray, though some can be slightly purple or yellow. They also constantly appear as though they are malnourished, to the point of looking almost skeletal.

History[edit]

Vælkim were created by Gænvrake as a way to test his own power, resulting in irradiated husks imbued with his narcissistic nature.

Vælk Traits[edit]

Ability Score Increase. Your Intelligence score increases by 2 and your Constitution score increases by 1.
Age. Vælkim reach maturity at around 25, and usually to be around 60.
Alignment. Due to Gænvrake's influence, vælkim tend towards evil alignments.
Size. The heights of vælkim vary wildly. However, they normally weigh less.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Darkvision. You have darkvision out to a range of 60 feet.
Innate Radioactivity. You have resistance to radiant damage, and have advantage on saving throws against the irradiated condition.
Nuclear Fallout. When you are killed, roll a d20 or choose to fail. A roll of 5 or lower is a failure. On a failure, your body erupts in a wave of energy. All creatures within a 20 ft. radius of your remains must succeed on a Constitution saving throw (the DC is equal to 8 + twice your proficiency bonus) or take a number of d8s of damage equal to twice your proficiency bonus of radiant damage and gain 2 levels of irradiation.
Corrupt Bloodline. You know the sapping sting cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the ray of enfeeblement spell once as a 2nd-level spell. Once you reach 5th level, you can also cast the wither and bloom spell once. You must finish a long rest to cast these spells again with this trait. Intelligence is your spellcasting ability for these spells.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common, Abyssal and one other language of your choice.
