My prompt
- A technomage is a character class for Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition. A technomage is a spellcaster for a science fiction campaign set in the future.
- Technomage spells blend wizardry with science and technology.
- 1st level technomage spells.
I instructed it to create a spell list (6 spells), with two passes to improve the names, and and got: 1. generate kinetic field 2. generate force field 3. create telepad 4. sonic boom blast 5. create humanoid android 6. charge battery
Then for each spell, I ask for more details. Giving a blank spell template helped, but wasn't essential (it did reduce the number of times I re-submitted the instruction)
Generate Kinetic Shield[edit]

- Casting time: 1 minute
- Range: Touch
- Components: V, S
- Duration: 1 hour
- You touch an object and an invisible kinetic shield surrounds it.
- The shield grants the object a +1 bonus to AC for 1 hour.
Curious that it only grants an AC bonus to objects, but if a technomage is dealing with robots or other bits of technology, this might make sense.
Generate Force Field[edit]
- Generate Force Field (1st level technomage spell)
- Casting Time 1 action
- Range 30 feet
- Components: V,S,M (a magnet and a tiny portion of metal)
- Duration Conc. Up to 10 minutes
- A protective energy field appears around a creature of your choice within range, granting it advantage on all saving throws.
- At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the target's speed increases by 10 feet.
Create Telepad[edit]
- Create Telepad
- 1st-level evocation
- Casting time: 1 minute
- Range: touch
- Components: V, S, M (two small steel plates, an opaque cube of jade, a white crystal bead, an iron bar and 5 gp in platinum)
- Duration: instantaneous
- You summon a telepad that allows instant teleportation of up to 100 pounds of matter and 4 cubic feet of volume.
- The telepad has a duration of 3 uses or 3 days, whichever happens first.
- The telepad can be deactivated by a command word.
- The telepad teleports matter to another telepad in range, which must have been created within the past year, and to which the caster has a mental link.
- At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, you can create one additional telepad for each slot level above 1st.
Sonic Boom Blast[edit]

- Duration: instantaneous
- A blast of sound waves hits everything within range.
- Each creature in a 15-foot cone must make a Constitution saving throw.
- A creature takes 2d8 thunder damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Create humanoid android[edit]

- Casting time: 1 minute
- Range: 30 feet
- Components: V, S, M (metal scraps worth 250 gp, which the spell consumes)
- Duration: Concentration, up to 6 hours
- You create a synthetic humanoid figure that appears to be constructed from scrap metal.
- The figure has the same size and features as you (or whatever you use for a model for this spell), but it doesn't have any abilities.
- It serves as an extension of your senses and your hands.
- You can see, hear, smell, taste, and feel through it.
- While using this spell you can cast touch spells through it.
- You can also use it to open an otherwise inaccessible container, such as a locked door.
- It can carry items, but it can't use them.
- The android has an AC of 15 and 10 hit points.
- Any damage it takes is transferred to your own hit points. (You take the damage whenever you end the spell.)
- It dies if it falls to 0 hit points.
I generated about a dozen interesting results for this spell, in the end I just picked one. This one seems to have a "find familiar" vibe. Some results were like "conjure X" spells, some were like a raise dead spell, some were just whacky. I may come back to this one.
Charge battery[edit]

- Range: 60 feet
- Components: V, S
- Duration: Instantaneous
- A blue, electric spark travels from the index finger of your dominant hand to the battery you target. The battery regains however much battery power you choose to restore.
