Cool cool! Could you give me some info on what your character's lord is like? I was thinking about making him a stand-in for the old black knight from the original thunder rift adventure plan by Havard. I was thinking he'd be a descendent inheritor of the old black keep, south of the swamps around Melinir. If that doesn't sound good to you, just tell me. --Kydo (talk) 14:19, 30 January 2017 (MST)
- Well, I was imagining that the "Hall" of Saint Ulysses was a keep, ruled by the Knight-Champion (in this case Thondir Repennan), with a temple presided over by a High Priest (in this case Anen Hyte). By tradition, the Knight-Champion is also the Lord of the keep/temple and surrounding land, and the title is passed down to a designated successor when the current one dies or retires. This could work with your idea, with it being a hereditary title handed down to Thondir.
- As for Thondir himself, he's a human, roughly 50-60 years-old, and a stern but understanding, compassionate and righteous man whose time in the Rift has taught him to value more the virtues of gravity and discipline, but who still remembers romanticized notions of knighthood such as chivalry and honor. His relationship with Ulysses is complicated by the fact that he is both her liege and the closest thing she has to a father, with her being raised from infancy by him and High Priestess Hyte. He loves her dearly, but holds her to the same standard as any other knight in his charge, even though he forced her to train for knighthood in the first place as a means to teach her discipline. While Ulysses has always valued and adored knighthood and has taken to it wholeheartedly and done her best to make Thondir (her mentor, role-model and parent) proud, he can't help but see the young girl he raised practically from birth, a problem caused more by Ulysses' own naivete than any stubbornness on Thondir's part.--GamerAim (talk) 15:56, 30 January 2017 (MST)
