Could you please put a ** next to skills you chose for expertise? This will allow me to apply the correct modifiers to secret checks. --Kydo (talk) 02:37, 30 January 2017 (MST)

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that you're going to go for Arcane Trickster? --Salasay Δ 08:34, 30 January 2017 (MST)

  • No problem Kydo; however, he is not an expert at any skill at the moment.
  • What are the ability score called HON and SAN? And how do I find them?
  • By the way, would you like me to add extra content like more backstory, NPCs that the character know, or even some few odd things here and there?
  • No Salasay, I am actually going for Mastermind because I am heavily basing my character on Sherlock Holmes (The Benedict Cumberbatch version, not the Jonny Lee Miller version no offence to the guy); therefore, it will best fit with a person who is extremely manipulative. --Azernath (talk) 16:02, 30 January 2017 (MST)
Is Mastermind a rogue archetype? I caught the Doyle references and everything, I just figured you might be going for "Dr. Strange as Sherlock Holmes" type character. --Salasay Δ 16:18, 30 January 2017 (MST)
Actually the Strange and Norrell part is based on two characters from a TV show/book Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell, the Doyle is based on the author of Sherlock Holmes Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and the the Johnathan is just a villain from my games called Johnathan Norrell who my players hated so much.
Yeah, I've never heard of Strange and Norrell, but as I said I got the Doyle reference. Funny coincidence with the Actor there, though. --Salasay Δ 16:45, 30 January 2017 (MST)
And yes, Mastermind is a SCAG (Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide) archetype. --Azernath (talk) 16:41, 30 January 2017 (MST)
Ah. My 5e-fu is much worse than my 3.5. --Salasay Δ 16:45, 30 January 2017 (MST)
Honor and Sanity are in the DMG.--GamerAim (talk) 17:46, 30 January 2017 (MST)
We are not using those scores in this game. I included them for the sake of completeness. I am using the sanity mechanics, but theyre based on wisdom instead. --Kydo (talk) 19:55, 30 January 2017 (MST)
Oh darn, and I rolled alright scores (both 13) in them :( Will fix.--GamerAim (talk) 20:00, 30 January 2017 (MST)
Which actor are you talking about? --Azernath (talk) 21:30, 30 January 2017 (MST)
Benedict Cumberbatch plays Holmes and Dr. Strange, so I figured you were making a play on the shared actor. --Salasay Δ 21:33, 30 January 2017 (MST)
Well that too. By the way Kydo (and any who is reading), this is not a finished on the backstory because I have few characters to write about, including a housekeeper and an archenemy called Mystery, and also explain how the character has not a single dime in his name, yet he still lives in a respectable large house with multiple rooms without owning the place, and much more, so now that much is more to come maybe even few cases that he completed. --Azernath (talk) 22:06, 30 January 2017 (MST)
I see. I shall wait until I have this information before I drop him into the world. I don't want to write your character for you. --Kydo (talk) 23:27, 30 January 2017 (MST)
No, you can add me if you want to at any time, and will adapt to your ideas. These small things are just an attempt of adding hooks that you can use in the game which can change at your leisure, and since you know about them now, I just have to add the small details that run them. --Azernath (talk) 01:34, 31 January 2017 (MST)
