Backstory[edit]

Roary is a high elf urchin raised on the streets of Melnir since the current government took over. A life on the streets getting by on petty crime has left him distrustful and apathetic to anything but him, his city, and those who have earned his trust. Raised without education or traditional Elven refinement, he lives as a disheveled barbarian, guided and named after his signature animal totem - the only thing he has to remember his parents by. He lives from job to job, always spending everything he makes on nothing more than he can carry with him, as well as gratuitous quantities of alcohol from whatever tavern hasn't banned him for participating in a drunken brawl. He's willing to do most anything he can for payment, paying little mind to things like morals or principle. To him, the quickest cure for getting on his bad side is a bribe - unless you've really getting on his bad side. In recent years, after a couple bad run-ins with the law, he's turned to providing navigator services for the surrounding area, putting his years of scouting and out-of-town work to more legitimate use.

Traits & Features[edit]

Fey Ancestry. You have advantage on saving throws against being charmed and magic can't put you to sleep.

Trance. Elves don't need to sleep. Instead, they meditate deeply, remaining semiconscious, for 4 hours a day. (The Common word for such meditation is 'trance.') While meditating, you can dream after a fashion; such dreams are actually mental exercises that have become re exive through years of practice. After resting in this way, you gain the same benefit that a human does from 8 hours of sleep.

Darkvision. Accustomed to twilit forests and the night sky, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Rage. In battle, you fight with primal ferocity. On your turn, you can enter a rage as a bonus action. While raging, you gain the following benefits if you aren't wearing heavy armor: * You have advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws. * When you make a melee weapon attack using Strength, you gain a bonus to the damage roll that increases as you gain levels as a barbarian, as shown in the Rage Damage column of the Barbarian table. * You have resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage. If you are able to cast spells, you can't cast them or concentrate on them while raging. Your rage lasts for 1 minute. It ends early if you are knocked unconscious or if your turn ends and you haven't attacked a hostile creature since your last turn or taken damage since then. You can also end your rage on your turn as a bonus action. Once you have raged the number of times shown for your barbarian level in the Rages column of the Barbarian table, you must finish a long rest before you can rage again.

Unarmored Defense. While you are not wearing any armor, your Armor Class equals 10 + your Dexterity modifier + your Constitution modifier. You can use a shield and still gain this benefit.
