First Form: Thunderclap and Flash[edit]
(Standard Action + Movement) The user unsheathes their katana, dashes forward at blinding speeds and striking their opponent faster than they can react, before sheathing it back. The user targets an enemy within 60ft, the target must perform a dexterity check at DC 10 + attack bonus, a failed save results in 1d10 + dexterity mod Thunder damage This form expends a single Breath point.
- Thunderclap and Flash can be used with increased potency.
By expending additional Breath points, the user can alter the amount of times Thunderclap and Flash is performed or the speed at which it is conducted.
- Sixfold
(Standard Action + Movement) The user performs Thunderclap and Flash six times in quick succession while slightly augmenting the power and speed of his dashes. The user targets an enemy within 60ft, the target must perform a dexterity check at DC 10 + attack bonus, a failed save results in 6d10 + (dexterity mod * 6) Thunder damage. This form expends six total Breath points.
- Eightfold
(Standard Action + Movement) The user performs Thunderclap and Flash eight times in quick succession while slightly augmenting the power and speed of his dashes. The user targets an enemy within 60ft, the target must perform a dexterity check at DC 10 + attack bonus, a failed save results in 8d10 + (dexterity mod * 8) Thunder damage. This form expends eight total Breath points.
- Godlike Speed
(Standard Action + Movement) The user performs Thunderclap and Flash while greatly augmenting the speed of the technique. The user targets an enemy within 90ft, the target must perform a dexterity check at DC 10 + attack bonus, a failed save results in the target being grappled for 1d4 rounds or until they have broken free from the grapple (DC 10 + attack bonus), for the duration the user can move their opponent at a rate of 90ft a round inflicting 5d10 + (dexterity mod * 5) per round after the initial grapple. This form expends ten total Breath points.
Second Form: Return Stroke[edit]
(Reaction to being struck) The user attempts to riposte an incoming attack with thunderous speed. If Return Stroke is successful it deals weapon damage + 2d4 Thunder damage, the riposted attack is completely repulsed dealing no damage. This form expends two Breath points.
Thundering Backslash[edit]
(Bonus Action) Once per round, after a successful non-form related melee attack, the Thunder breather may initiate an additional attack on the back end of their slash. This attack functions the same as a normal attack except the damage is halved and this attack consumes the users bonus action.
Third Form: Shock Step[edit]
(Consumes movement equal to 20ft per round that the form is used, IE the user can spend 40 or 60ft of movement for 2-3 rounds of duration) The user's feet begin to discharge lightning from the pads of their feet. If the user walks into a creature's threatened squares, 5ft if they are normal size or 10ft if they are large (hit range based on size of the creature), they deal level * 2 lightning damage. If the creature is drenched or standing in water this damage is doubled. This form lasts a duration equal to 1 round per 20ft expended on the form's initial use. This form expends three Breath points.
Fourth Form: Booming Cross Slash[edit]
(Standard Action) The user slashes twice creating an X shape with the mirrored slashes, the first of these slashes deals 4d10 thunder damage upon hitting and the second instead stuns the victim on a failed dc 8 + attack bonus con save, additionally if at least one of these slashes lands the Thunder Breather can instantly move 15ft in any direction from their original position without provoking an attack of opportunity against them. This form expends four Breath points.
Fifth Form: Unsheathed Thunderbolt[edit]
(Standard Action) The user unsheathes or quickly sheathes and unsheathes their katana sending a lightning slash toward a target within 15ft. If the target fails a 10 + attack bonus dc dex save they take 5d10 thunder damage, their AC is reduced by 2, and their movement speed is halved for the next round. This form expends five Breath points.
Sixth Form: Static Pulse[edit]
(Standard Action) The user sheathes their blade and enters a meditative stance, closing their eyes before quickly drawing their blade and dashing to every enemy within 30ft of them within an instant, striking a slash at their body before returning to their original position in their original stance. Each of these slashes deals 2d8 slashing and 2d8 thunder damage, requiring a DEX save to avoid, and even on a pass victims take half damage. This form expends six Breath points.
Seventh Form: Brewing Storm[edit]
(Standard Action) The user calls upon the power of a brewing storm, to enhance speed and prepare other forms. The storm arrives in 1d4 rounds and enables the use of the future forms "Brewing Storm, Inclement Redirection" and "Brewing Storm, Volt Strike." This form also has a possibly negative repercussion-the storm blocks enough sunlight to allow demons to survive in what would typically be day time. The storm can be dismissed by the thunder breathing user as a standard action. This form expends seven Breath points.
Ability Score Improvement[edit]
When you reach 4th level, and again at 8th, 12th, 16th and 19th level, you can increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can't increase an ability score above 20 using this feature.
Mantra[edit]
When you reach 4th level, and again at 8th, 12th, 16th and 20th level, you gain the ability to breathe deeply and meditate for a short period of time (1 action) regaining 1 breath point for each level of mantra you have unlocked (see class features table).
