From D&D Wiki
CON battles are the way leaders establish rank amongst themselves. It involves a physical challenge of awareness where two opponents face off to each other and must land a strike on the other. These must be open-handed, but can be the back of a hand. If the other blocks it, it doesn't count. Each land costs 5HP. The players can keep going until they lose (perhaps getting revived) or forfeit (and sacrifice a prized item or whatever is fought for).
For low-level play (below LVL10), one must restrict the blows to the hands only. Higher play can strike anywhere on upper body. For males, blows on the lower-forearms don't count, and for females strikes on the breasts don't count. Offenders take either a -10HP penalty or a tag of "abuser" -- the victim's choice). Above level 50, restrictions on the use of force are removed, as long as it is open-handed and not intended to be abusive (still in the spirit of play). If a higher-level Leader challenges a lower-level leader and the former is already higher-ranked, they must win in a battle of wits first. However, if they restrict themselves to the lower-level's contact restrictions, then this isn't necessary (mannerly).
If the higher-level challenger is lower-ranked, then it's merely impolite (impolitic) to use higher-level engagements (even though the lower-level player is higher ranked), but not against the rules; i.e. they can challenge the lower-level player without a mana battle.
If a higher LVL beats a lower level, they take one point of rank from the lower level (moves down -1 in rank). If a lower-level beats a higher level, they get to take the higher-level's rank and moves down 1.
These battles are pertinent to the category of leadership of the 5 categories for the Leader class.
