CallMeCal House Rules[edit]

These are homebrews, house rules, and other custom mechanics that apply to every campaign I run.

  • All CallMeCal Custom Content is available for use.
  • PCs and other Heroic characters use the Elite++ Array: 18 17 16 15 12 10
    • NPCs and other Basic characters use the Elite Array: 15 14 13 12 10 8
  • The Innate Item Bonuses rules apply, only for Rings and Wondrous Items, not for Arms and Armor.
  • Any spell on the Alchemist spell list may be made into a potion, even if it has a range of Personal.
  • Taking an Item Creation feat does not automatically imbue you with the knowledge of every item covered by the feat. To know how to craft an item, you must both be aware that such an item exists or may exist AND know (or have access to) all requisite spells. If you aren't already aware of a specific item or enchantment but know the requisite spells, you may make a Spellcraft check DC 10+the item or enchantment’s caster level to invent it. If you fail this check, you can retry it in 24 hours. You cannot forgo a spell requirement by using a higher DC; you MUST be able to cast the requisite spells (or be assisted by someone who can) in order to craft an item. If you don't know the requisite spells and have not heard of the item or enchantment, you have no way to know if making such a thing is even possible.
  • Archetypes that edit the same feature may be used together so long as doing so does not actually cause a conflict. So long as all changes may be made without interfering with one another, the archetypes are compatible. For example, if one archetype removes a second level spell slot and another removes a third level spell slot, both edit spellcasting but there is no conflict in removing both spell slots, so they are compatible.
  • If you acquire a feat you already have - such as a Witch with Brew Potion taking the Cauldron Hex, or a character with Improved Unarmed Strike taking a level of Monk - you immediately replace the now redundant feat with another feat you qualified for at the time you took it.
