Personality[edit]

Prideful, stoic and resolute, the Uplifted exemplify what it is to be the perfect warrior, soldier and commander. Their stoicism and dedication to their duty often give them a callous and cold aura to those inexperienced with the Uplifted.

Physical Description[edit]

The uplifted, made from human stock centuries ago, maintain most of the physcial traits of Humans but as a result of their creation - have been modified to be better warriors. The average uplifted stands over 8 feet tall with thick, powerful muscles yet surprisingly lithe and lean. Their skin is thick and often tan in color. Males and Females alike tend to keep their hair shaved or neatly trimmed.

Due to the modifications made to them, the Uplifted age incredibly slowly, almost all members seem to be well within their youth or young adult hood, with only the most ancient of warriors appearing middle aged. When created uplifted are spliced with the genes of various predators and creatures to give them advantages over their opponents. These advantages range from an extra heart and third lung to vastly improved metabolisms that allow them to heal rapidly from injuries.

Relations[edit]

To the members of the Ancient Empires ruling class the Uplifted were seen as tools and trained for obedience and loyalty and to the common folk they were seen as heroes and champions of great repute, the chiefest of which may have been venerated. The Uplifted themselves see their common folk, and even their rulers, as mere mortals - usually going no farther than to classify them as their charges. To all others, they are treated with a quite caution as the Uplifted judge them friend or foe. Uplifted often open up to other uplifted when free of prying eyes, live closely with and for a small group of allies. These groups often take the form of loved ones, families and close brothers-in-arms. It would not be wrong to liken the Uplifted to wolves and their kin their pack.

Alignment[edit]

Most Uplifted are True Neutral. Having been made and bred for servitude they never question the orders of their commanders. Those of the Uplifted who live amongst others, overtime slowly step away from this mentality and can be of any alignment.

Lands[edit]

Most uplifted live in fortified towns and city states. These lands are ruled by the descendants of the Uplifted's ancient homeland now lost to time. The lands the Uplifted came from are simply referred to as 'The Old Empire'. To date, the exact borders and location of the Old Empire remains disputed as many texts provide contradictory information. If the Uplifted still recall their ancient home, they make no mention of it.

Religion[edit]

The uplifted tend towards worshiping Gods of War or Order.

Language[edit]

The Uplifted Speak Common. Those with high intelligence scores can choose from languages from the following list: Elven, Dwarven, Halfling, Gnome, Goblin, Draconic, Undercommon, Abyssal, Infernal and Celestial.

Names[edit]

Traditionally uplifted are given a name when they are Created, and every half century or so, when a new figure takes over as the Commander of their forces - the Uplifted are given another name. Over the course of their lives an Uplifted will often acrue a half dozen or more names.

Racial Traits[edit]

  • +4 Intelligence, +2 Dexterity, +6 Constitution, +10 Strength.": Highly Intelligent and Physically gifted, the Uplifted uses its sharp mind as much as its powerful muscles. (includes bonuses from Large Size Category)
  • Humanoid: adapters look vaguely human in terms of body shape although far larger.
  • Large size
  • base land speed 100: Due to their large size, powerful muscles and alchemical infusions, the uplifted can stride at great and seemingly impossible speeds.
  • Three Lungs and Two Heart: Uplifted can hold their breath for twice as long and can go twice as long before needing to make endurance checks.
  • Primal Senses: With their enhanced senses an Uplifted gains a +4 bonus to their Spot and Listen skills and Gains Scent of 10 feet.
  • Thick Skinned: Gain +2 Natural armour class and Damage Reduction 5/--
  • Powerful Frame: Uplifted Treat their Strength score as 4 higher for determining Carrying Capacity and gain a +1 on melee attack rolls
  • Rapid Metabolism: Gain Fast Healing 1 per minute
  • Automatic Languages: Common. Bonus Languages: Elven, Dwarven, Halfling, Gnome, Draconic, Undercommon, Abyssal, Infernal and Celstial.
  • Favored Class: Fighter
  • Level Adjustment: +6
