Among the most powerful of all Enchantment spells, Twist is unique in that it can be used to turn enemies into full, willing allies, with no need for ongoing Dominating or carefully worded commands that can be creatively interpreted. When cast, as a full-round action, Twist causes the target's perspective, frame of mind, philosophy, emotional state, and fundamental psychology to change. For all intents and purposes, they assume the mindset of the person casting the spell by default, or of a third party depending on the Material Components involved.

On a failed Will Save, the target abruptly has their mindset shifted, leaving them stunned for one round. Their actions on the following round, and for the remainder of the spell, must take into account their altered frame of mind. A Chaotic Evil creature abruptly becoming Lawful Good must succeed a second Will Save (DC = 10 + Caster Level of the original caster) for each chaotic or evil act they wish to undertake, and, if they fail, do nothing, as their desired action clashes with their altered morality and worldview.

On a successful Will Save, the duration is reduced to one round, during which the target is stunned, and gains the full understanding of their new worldview, before being restored to their normal mindset at the end of the stunned round. Targets may act normally on the following round, but players and DMs are encouraged to roleplay out the long-term consequences of the inevitable cognitive dissonance.

Material Component: A small part of the caster (or another third party's) body. Hair, blood, fingernails, etc.

Twist can be rendered permanent by way of the Permanency spell. This costs 2,000 GP per hit die of the target, and is usually considered an evil act if done without the informed consent of the target.
