Edition 3.5e Name True Destruction Division of Vessel Magic


Summary The True Destruction Division centers on harnessing raw, annihilative energy to devastate foes and environments alike. Practitioners gain mastery over powerful abilities that focus on pure destruction, allowing them to obliterate anything in their path, shatter defenses, and break the fabric of reality itself.


Ranks 5


Description The True Destruction Division emphasizes overwhelming offensive power and absolute negation within Vessel Magic. Each level in the Devout Leader prestige class grants two ranks in the True Destruction Division, up to a maximum of 5 ranks. Additional ranks can also be acquired through specific feats or intensive training focused on mastery of destructive energies.


Abilities and Ranks Rank 1: First-Level Ability: You gain access to one first-level ability from the True Destruction Division.


Rank 2: First-Level Abilities: You may use two first-level abilities from the True Destruction Division. Second-Level Ability: You gain access to one second-level ability.


Rank 3: First-Level Abilities: You may use three first-level abilities from the True Destruction Division. Second-Level Abilities: You may use two second-level abilities. Third-Level Ability: You gain access to one third-level ability.


Rank 4: First-Level Abilities: You may use four first-level abilities. Second-Level Abilities: You may use three second-level abilities. Third-Level Abilities: You may use two third-level abilities. Fourth-Level Ability: You gain access to one fourth-level ability.


Rank 5: First-Level Abilities: You may use five first-level abilities. Second-Level Abilities: You may use four second-level abilities. Third-Level Abilities: You may use three third-level abilities. Fourth-Level Abilities: You may use two fourth-level abilities. Fifth-Level Ability: You gain access to one fifth-level ability.


Ability Flexibility You can select and prepare your abilities at the start of each day or after 1 hour of focused concentration, allowing you to harness different destructive powers as needed.


Progression and Special Features The True Destruction Division provides additional abilities focused on negating defenses, maximizing damage, and tearing through magical and physical barriers alike. As you ascend through the ranks, your abilities become capable of affecting even the most resilient enemies, piercing resistances and overcoming immunities, with a focus on pure offense and devastation.


1st Rank Vessel Abilities[edit]

Annihilate Description: Choose a creature, object, or any target within 60 feet. You can attempt to erase it from existence. The target must make a saving throw against your Will save + your Destruction rank + your character level + your Strength modifier. On a failure, the target is completely annihilated and cannot be revived by any means. On a success, the target takes 4d10 force damage and suffers disadvantage on all attacks and saving throws until the end of their next turn.

Oblivion's Grasp Description: You create a spectral hand of destruction that reaches out to grasp a creature within 30 feet. The target must make a saving throw against your Will save + your Destruction rank + your character level + your Strength modifier. On a failure, the target is restrained for 1 minute and takes 3d12 necrotic damage at the start of each of its turns. It can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns to escape. On a success, the target takes half damage and is not restrained.

Ruinous Wave Description: Unleash a wave of destructive energy in a 30-foot cone. All creatures in that area must make a saving throw against your Will save + your Destruction rank + your character level + your Strength modifier. On a failure, they take 10d12 damage of your choice (force, fire, or necrotic) and are knocked prone. On a success, they take half damage and are not knocked prone. This ability has a cooldown of one turn.


2nd Rank Vessel Abilities[edit]

Cataclysmic Burst Description: You channel your destructive power to create a massive explosion centered on a point within 60 feet. All creatures within a 60-foot radius must make a saving throw against your Will save + your Destruction rank + your character level + your Strength modifier. On a failure, creatures take 14d12 damage of your choice (force, fire, or necrotic) and are pushed back 30 feet. On a success, they take half damage and are not pushed. The area becomes difficult terrain for 1 minute, and any structures within the area take double damage.

Destruction Manifest Description: You briefly transform into a being of pure destruction, gaining a +10 bonus to your Strength and Constitution scores for 1 minute. During this time, any melee attack you make deals an additional 4d12 force damage. Additionally, any creature that strikes you in melee takes 2d12 force damage.

Void Reaver Description: You summon a rift to the Void, drawing forth destructive energies. Choose 10 creatures within 600 feet; the target must make a saving throw against your Will save + your Destruction rank + your character level + your Strength modifier. On a failure, the target takes 10d12 necrotic damage, and if it drops to 0 hit points as a result, it is disintegrated and cannot be revived by any means. On a success, it takes half damage and suffers disadvantage on its next attack roll or saving throw. You can use this ability once per long rest.


3rd Rank Vessel Abilities[edit]

Annihilation Wave Description: You unleash a devastating wave of destructive energy in a 60-foot cone. All creatures in the area must make a saving throw against your Will save + your Destruction rank + your character level + your Strength modifier. On a failed save, creatures take 20d12 damage of your choice (force, fire, or radiant) and are blinded until the end of their next turn. On a successful save, they take half damage and are not blinded. Additionally, any objects in the area are obliterated.

Destruction’s Grasp Description: You reach out with an aura of pure destruction, targeting a creature within 60 feet. That creature must make a saving throw against your Will save + your Destruction rank + your character level + your Strength modifier. On a failed save, the creature is held in a stasis of destruction for 1 minute, taking 5d10 necrotic damage at the start of each of its turns. The creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns to end the effect. If the creature drops to 0 hit points while in this state, it is permanently erased from existence. This ability can be used once per long rest.

Worldbreaker Description: You channel the ultimate force of destruction, targeting a point on the ground within 120 feet. After a brief moment, the area erupts with cataclysmic energy in a 50-foot radius. All creatures in the area must make a saving throw against your Will save + your Destruction rank + your character level + your Strength modifier. On a failed save, they take 20d12 force damage and are knocked prone. On a successful save, they take half damage and remain standing. Any structures within the area are obliterated. The area becomes a permanent zone of destruction, rendering it impossible to cast spells or use abilities within it. This ability can be used once per long rest.


4th Rank Vessel Abilities[edit]

Eternal Oblivion Description: At the start of each day, you enter a state of heightened destructive potential. For the entire day, any creature you reduce to 0 hit points ceases to exist entirely, removed from all timelines and planes of existence. This ability extends to any object that is completely destroyed by your actions. You cannot be restored to life or resurrected by any means after using this ability. This ability cannot be used in conjunction with resurrection or similar abilities, ensuring that destruction is absolute.

Apocalyptic Resonance Description: You create a resonating wave of destruction that ripples out in a 100-foot radius centered on you. All creatures within this radius must make a saving throw against your Will save + your Destruction rank + your character level + your Strength modifier. On a failed save, creatures take 30d12 damage of your choice (force, fire, or necrotic) and are stunned until the end of their next turn. On a successful save, they take half damage and are not stunned. Additionally, any non-magical objects in the area are instantly destroyed. This ability can be used once per long rest.

Destructive Avatar Description: You transform into an embodiment of destruction for 1 minute. While in this form, you gain the following benefits:

Your damage rolls deal an additional 5d12 force damage. You gain resistance to all damage types except for psychic damage. You can make a melee attack as a bonus action on your turn that automatically hits and deals 10d12 force damage. At the end of your transformation, all creatures within a 30-foot radius must make a saving throw against your Will save + your Destruction rank + your character level + your Strength modifier. On a failed save, they take 5d10 necrotic damage and are frightened until the end of their next turn. On a successful save, they take half damage and are not frightened. This ability can be used once per long rest.


5th Rank Vessel Abilities[edit]

Cataclysmic Snap Description: With a mere snap of your fingers, you can attempt to erase half of all creatures, objects, and anything else within a 5000-foot radius. Each target must make a saving throw against your Will save + your Destruction rank + your character level + your Strength modifier. On a failed save, the target is instantly reduced to dust, ceasing to exist entirely. On a successful save, the target takes 50d12 force damage and is pushed back 100 feet. This ability can be used once per long rest.

Reality Shatter Description: You unleash a wave of destructive energy that disrupts the fabric of reality itself. All creatures and objects within a 300-foot radius must make a saving throw against your Will save + your Destruction rank + your character level + your Strength modifier. On a failed save, creatures take 20d12 psychic damage and are incapacitated until the end of their next turn, and non-magical objects are instantly disintegrated. On a successful save, creatures take half damage and are not incapacitated. Additionally, you may choose to create a 100-foot-radius sphere of antimagic for 1 minute in a location within that area, suppressing all magical effects. This ability can be used once per long rest.

Annihilation Burst Description: You harness overwhelming destructive energy, creating a massive explosion centered on yourself with a 500-foot radius. All creatures within this area must make a saving throw against your Will save + your Destruction rank + your character level + your Strength modifier. On a failed save, they take 100d12 force damage and are knocked prone. On a successful save, they take half damage and remain standing. Any structures or objects within the blast radius are obliterated. Additionally, you regain hit points equal to half the total damage dealt to any creature by this ability. This ability can be used once per long rest.
