True Damphir[edit]

"They are the kings and queens of the night, the true children of Barovia"

Physical Description[edit]

True Damphirs look like a human or elf.

History & Society[edit]

A True Damphir can only be born from a original vampire, that is, a vampire that was not transformed by another vampire (such as Strad) - a regular vampire will give birth to a regular damphir instead. Because such vampires are very rare, so are True Damphirs. This rarity means they don't have a society or culture of their own, but many are know to take barovian culture as their own. The relationship a True Damphir have with it's parent can be incredible complex or as simple as a relationship can be, but it always shape the Damphir.

Damphir Traits[edit]

You can empower yourself with this bite a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus.
Spellcasting. You know the Primal Savagery cantrip. When you reach 3rd level, you can cast Charm Person. When you reach 5th level, you can cast Spider Climb (Self Only). When you reach 9th level, you can cast Gaseous Form (Self Only). When you reach 13th level, you can cast Polymorph (Self Only, Wolf or Bat Only). Constitution is your spellcasting ability for these spells. Once you cast either of these spells with this trait, you can’t cast that spell with it again until you finish a long rest. You can also cast these spells using spell slots if you have of the appropriate slot, but they have the same limitations as described.
