Toxtricity are a bipedal race of Poison- and Electric-type Pokémon with beady, piercing eyes. They seem to come in two different strains, that seem to be connected to their personality. Despite this, all Toxtricity share certain traits. Their skin is mostly purple, save for patches on their stomachs, palms, and legs. They sport spiked purple belts around their waists, and more purple spikes around their wrists, on their backs, and on their tails. They have longer necks than most humanoid races, and hands that each end in three long, lobed fingers. They also have somewhat flat feet, ending in three shorter but still lobed toes. Toxtricity have mohawks that seems to be made of pure electricity, the size and color of which depends on their strain. One of this race's most prominent features are the purple lumps on their chests, which they use their claws to strum. When they do this, they produce a sound similar to an electric guitar, as well as actual electricity.

The first strain of Toxtricity is what is called the "Amped Form". Toxtricity of this strain have flatter heads than others, with long, purple fin-like protrusions on either side. Their mohawks are also more united than those of the other strain, and start from just above their mouths, reaching to the small of their backs. Both their mohawks as well as the patches on their stomachs, palms, and legs are yellow in color. Amped Form Toxtricity most often have a more energetic, extroverted personality, and the sounds they produce with their chest lumps are of higher pitch than their non-Amped brethren.

The second strain of Toxtricity is what most called the "Low Key Form". These Toxtricity have heads that are more round than those of the Amped Form, and their fin-like protrusions are shorter in length. Their mohawks seem to split into two, beginning just behind a tall purple horn that protrudes from their forehead, and reaching to the small of their backs. Both their mohawks as well as the patches on their stomachs, palms, and legs are all an electric blue in color. Low Key Form Toxtricity most often have a more sedated, introverted personality, and the sounds they produce with their chest lumps are more akin to that of a bass guitar.

History

Not much is known about this exotic race, save for that they evolved in the Galar Region long ago. It is said that humans first created electric guitars after watching Toxtricity strum their chest lumps. Throughout their history, there have been individuals of this race that bore different coloration than their brethren, as well as those that could transform into huge, monstrous beasts that seemed to be a mixture of both strains.

Society

One of the most important aspects of Toxtricity society is, as one might guess, music. They often have celebrations at which they gather and strum their chest lumps, often to show their young, which they call Toxel, how it is done. Toxtricity settlements can be found pretty much anywhere, and they do not share the disdain for those unlike themselves, as many races do. Individuals can be found throughout the world, traveling as bards, teaching music to new generations, and, occasionally... picking pockets or engaging in gang activities.

Toxtricity Names

When it comes to naming their kind, Toxtricity are quite creative. They often choose names that reflect their kind's wild and rebellious nature, especially if they relate to music. They usually do not have last names.

Male: Chord, Havoc, Crash, Shred, Treble, etc.

Female: Clef, Trebla, Wailey, Fret, Octavia, etc.

Toxtricity Traits

Ability Score Increase. Your Charisma score increases by 2 and your Dexterity score increases by 1.
Age. Toxel mature into Toxtricity around the age of 15 years. They most often live to be around 60.
Alignment. Due to their wild and rebellious nature, Toxtricity tend to be chaotic. They can be good or evil, but most fall somewhere in the middle.
Size. Toxtricity usually grow to be just over 5 feet tall. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Poison Body. Your poison typing protects you from toxins. You are immune to the poisoned condition.
Overdrive. When you succeed in making an attack that deals thunder or lightning damage, you may re-roll a 1 on the damage roll. You may do this a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier per long rest.
Boomburst. You can use the thunderwave spell at will. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for it. Once you use this trait, you must finish a long rest before you can use it again.
Sludge Wave. You know the poison spray cantrip. Charisma is your spellcasting ability for it.
Punk Rock. Your chest lumps work similarly to guitars. You are proficient in a stringed instrument of your choice that requires strumming.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language of your choice.
