Totem Options (5e Class Feature)
The following are additional options for the Path of the Totem Warrior Barbarian.
Some abilities require creatures to make a saving throw. When they do, they make the roll against your Totem Save DC.
Totem Save DC: 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier
Totem Spirit[edit]
Dragon. When you activate your rage, choose one of the following types: acid, cold, fire, lightning, poison, radiant, thunderous, psychic, necrotic or energy. Your melee weapon attacks deal an extra 1d6 damage of that type until your rage ends. The spirit of the Dragon empowers you with the elements.
Frog. While raging, you can use a bonus action, to jump a number of feet equal to five times your proficiency bonus, without provoking opportunity attacks. The spirit of the frog lets you leap high in the air.
Stegosaurus. While raging, you gain a bonus to AC equal to your Strength modifier. The spirit of the stegosaurus turns your muscles into armored plating.
Tarrasque. While raging, your attacks deal double damage to structures. The spirit of the Tarrasque makes you a force of unbridled destruction.
Tyrannosaurus. When you activate your rage, or as a bonus action while raging, you can grow as if under the effects of Enlarge/Reduce. The spirit of the T-Rex swells your body with power.
Triceratops. While raging, if you move at least 10ft straight toward a target and then hit it with a melee attack on the same turn, that attack deals an extra 1d8 bludgeoning damage and it forces them to make a Strength saving throw. On a failure, the target is knocked prone. The spirit of the Triceratops makes you a moving wall of destruction.
Turtle. While raging, if you are grappling a creature, you can deal 1d8 piercing damage at the start of your turn. The spirit of the Turtle grants you a scissor-like grip.
Velociraptor. While you are raging and not wearing heavy armor, your walking speed increases by 5ft and opportunity attacks have disadvantage against you. The spirit of the Velociraptor makes you extremely quick and agile.
Aspect of the Beast[edit]
Dragon. You gain the iconic breath weapon of the Dragons. While you are raging, you can use a bonus action to force all creatures in a 15ft cone to make a Dexterity saving throw, taking acid, cold, fire, lightning, poison, radiant, thunderous, psychic, necrotic or energy damage equal to 1d12 plus half your Barbarian level. A creature takes half damage on a successful save.
Frog. You gain the special reach of the frog. While raging, you can use a bonus action to attempt a grapple check against a target that is no more than one size larger than you, and is within 15ft of you. If you succeed, the target is pulled to you.
Stegosaurus. You gain the deadly defenses of the Stegosaurus. While you are raging and not wearing heavy armor, any creature of your choice that touches you or hits with a melee attack, takes slashing damage equal to your rage damage.
Tarrasque. While raging, you have advantage on saving throws against spells. The spirit of the Tarrasque makes your body a repellent for spells.
Tyrannosaurus. You gain the intimidating presence of the T-Rex. When you enter rage, all hostile creatures within 90ft that can hear you must succeed a Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute. A frightened creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of its turn, ending the fear on a success and becoming immune to this effect for the next 24 hours.
Triceratops. You gain the unrivaled strength of the Triceratops. While raging, you ignore difficult terrain while dashing and can make one melee attack as a bonus action when you take the Dash action.
Turtle. You gain the iconic defenses of the Turtle. While raging, your speed decreases by 5ft, and you gain a +2 bonus to AC.
Velociraptor. You gain the violent precision of the Velociraptor. While raging, your melee attacks score a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20.
Totemic Attunement[edit]
Dragon. While raging, you gain a flying speed equal to your walking speed. You will fall if your rage ends and you don't hold on or there's nothing holding you back. Unlike the eagle totem, its flight is freer and you also gain resistance to the chosen element among the Totemic Spirit or Aspect of the Beast class skills.
Frog. If a creature touches you or hits you with a melee attack while you are raging, you can have them make a Constitution saving throw. On a failure, the target is poisoned until the end of their next turn, and ignores this effect on a success. While poisoned this way, a creature is incapacitated and blind as a strong hallucinogenic poison courses through them.
Stegosaurus. While raging, you can use a bonus action to sweep the legs of a creature that is within 10ft and is no more than one size larger than you. The target creature must succeed a Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.
Tarrasque. While raging, any time you are targeted by a magic missile spell, a line spell, or a spell that requires a ranged attack roll, roll a d10. On a 1 to 7, you are affected by the spell as normal. On an 8 or 9, you are unaffected by the spell. On a 10, the effect is reflected.
Tyrannosaurus. While raging, you can roll one additional weapon damage die when determining the extra damage for a critical hit with a melee attack.
Triceratops. While raging, you cannot be moved against your will.
Turtle. While raging, any critical hit against you becomes a normal hit. You also gain a swimming speed equal to your base walking speed and can breathe in water and on land.
Velociraptor. While raging, any creature you hit with a melee attack has their speed halved until the end of their next turn. This effect cannot stack.
