Titan Soul (5e Subclass)

Titan Soul[edit]
Sorcerer Subclass
Titan soul sorcerers are sorcerers whose bloodline was irrevocably altered with the divine might of a titan. Titans are ancient beings created by the gods themselves; they are the mightiest of monsters. They are the result of godly power unleashed on the world, but some people long ago dared to befriend them. The bloodline of those that did was blessed with unparalleled magic might and an attunement to the natural world. Sometimes, even generations after the titans were forgotten, those blessings show themselves again in distant descendants.
These sorcerers become arcane warriors, with their titanic blessings empowering their physical form through ancient magic. Titan soul sorcerers cleanly weave spell and spear, with magic that not only functions on its own, but enhances their combat prowess.
- Titan Magic
Starting at 1st level, your titan ancestry grants you powerful magic. You learn either the green flame blade spell or the booming blade spell, your choice. You can swap out your choice for the other option when you finish a long rest. You learn additional spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Titan Spells table. Each of these spells, including your cantrip, count as a sorcerer spell for you, but don't count against the number of sorcerer spells you know.
Whenever you gain a sorcerer level, you can replace one spell you gained from this feature with another spell of the same level. The new spell must be an abjuration or a transmutation spell from the druid, sorcerer, or wizard spell list.
Sorcerer Level | Spells |
---|---|
1st | shield, zephyr strike |
3rd | enlarge/reduce, pass without trace |
5th | counterspell, protection from energy |
7th | death ward, stoneskin |
9th | circle of power, telekinesis |
- Titan Warrior
When you choose this origin at 1st level, your titan blood empowers your physical form. You gain proficiency with light and medium armor, shields, and simple weapons. You can also spend 1 hour, which can be part of a short rest, creating hide armor with the corpse of a Small or larger Beast.
Additionally, whenever you finish a short or long rest, you can channel your magic through a simple melee weapon you touch, making it your titan weapon. When you attack with that weapon, you can use your Charisma modifier, instead of Strength or Dexterity, for the attack and damage rolls. Additionally, you can use your titan weapon as an arcane focus. You can have only 2 titan weapons; if you use this feature to create a third, you must choose one of the other two to no longer function as a titan weapon for you.
- Spellcast Strike
Also at 1st level, you can bolster your physical form to supplement your spellcasting. When you cast a spell during your action, you can make a melee weapon attack with your titan weapon as a bonus action. When you do so, you gain 1d6 temporary hit points, which wear off after 1 minute. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you complete a long rest.
The temporary hit points increase by 1d6 when you reach 6th level in this class (2d6), 14th level (3d6), and 18th level (4d6).
- Extra Attack
Starting at 6th level, you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn. Moreover, you can cast one of your cantrips in place of one of those attacks, so long as that cantrip has a casting time of 1 action.
- Improved Titan Sorcery
Also at 6th level, you gain a stronger attunement to your titan origins, granting you the following benefits:
- Your melee attacks with your titan weapon gain 5 feet more reach. You also gain a +2 bonus to damage rolls with it, and its attacks count as magical for purposes of overcoming resistances and immunities to nonmagical attacks and damage if they didn't already.
- You can spend 1 sorcery point to use your spellcast strike when you're out of uses
- Aspect of the Arcane Warrior
At 14th level, you learn to unleash the arcane power hidden within you. As a bonus action, you can enter this state for 1 minute, granting you the following benefits for the duration:
- If you have enough space, you can increase your size to Large, and your equipment scales with you. Otherwise, you can attain the maximum possible size in the available space. If you're large or larger, your melee reach increases by 5 feet.
- Your enlarged weapons are stronger; your melee weapon attacks deal an additional 2d8 damage.
- Your spellcast strike can be used without expending its uses or sorcery points.
- Your AC increases by 3.
Once you use this bonus action, you can’t use it again until you finish a short rest.
- Titan's Fury
At 18th level, your titan's might empowers you to resist even the strongest attacks sent your way. When you take damage, you can use your reaction to spend 1 sorcery point and halve the damage. The first time you hit with a melee weapon attack on your next turn, you deal additional damage of your weapon's type equal to the damage you took.
