A throwing knife is a knife that is balanced for throwing. You get a +2 bonus on Sleight of Hand checks made to conceal a throwing knife on your body. A character using a throwing knife as a melee weapon takes a -1 penalty to their attack rolls because the throwing knife is balanced and designed for ranged use. Rogues are always proficient with throwing knives.
