Thirdling (5e Race)
From D&D Wiki
Thirdling[edit]
Thirdlings are children of humans and halflings. They aren't very common, but those that are what they are make themselves known. No race has any quarrel with these people, as they are the best of the short-lived races, unlike the Dwelves. Thirdlings combine the best of both worlds, at the cost of some weird looks and different treatment based on what they are.
Physical Description[edit]
Thirdlings are about halfway between humans and halflings; too tall to be a tall halfling, too lanky to be a tall dwarf, but too short to be a short human. Somewhere in between lies the Thirdling. They can be easily picked out of a crowd. However, once you get to know a good Thirdling, you'll see that they're a good blend of halfling and human. Ambitious and hard-working, but never too busy for their family and remembering the necessities of life that other races seem to forget. Many people call thirdlings their best friend.
History[edit]
Thirdlings come from an island in the far northeast, known as Eyja. Eyja has been isolated for a long time due to the cold climate. As such, many years went by without external interruption. Three races lived on this island, for the longest time: The Ghostwise Halflings, the Dwarf Clan Gr, and a human tribe. After many years, the humans and halflings, with their numbers dwindling, came together and mated to create the first Thirdlings. Thirdlings have been named by the rest of the world when they were found living on Eyja.
Society[edit]
Thirdlings live on the island Eyja in the northeast. After many years of isolation with only humans, dwarves and halflings, some breeding between races occured and Thirdlings came into being. They live like half-elves, fitting into one race or another's society, never on their own.
Thirdling Names[edit]
Thirdlings use either human or halfling naming conventions but usually settle somewhere in between. Not quite as many names as a halfling, but not just a first and last, like humans.
