Thiapsen[edit]

Notice: The Thiapsens themselves do not know that this is the way in which they are reffered to as. They personally just refer to themselves as Half-Angels.

Physical Description[edit]

Thiapsens are a humanoid species with large feather wings. Their bodies are malnourished, with pale - almost gray - skin. Their faces are deformed, usually with a squint, a lazy eye or ptosis on top of that. Their clothing is comprised of mostly rags, but more often than not, they'll be wearing nothing except for a scrap of cloth to cover up their genitals. The wings pertruding from their back, always stand as undamaged and shapely.

History[edit]

The Thiapsens have begun their journey as Angel-Human hybrids. Any romantical relationships - let alone breeding - of these (Angels and Humans) were prohibited due to the skewed power dynamic. Those relationships were quickly found out, for there were only 5 hybrid children when they were banished into the underground. What now are called the "Primordial Parents" were the root of the existence of this race. The "Primordial Parents" were comprised of Athaenna (female), Yoric, Seffan, Ollay and Oleg (all male with the last two being brothers). Their human genes - against their better judgement - forced them to survive. It forced them to hunt, scavenge, eat rodents, drink out of puddles, even cannibalize each other and their own children, but most of all - they were forced to breed. The human genes made them afraid of dying - of extinction. While they were performing all the actions thrown on them by their human instincts, the celestial part of their brain loathed them for following through. It left them deeply conflicted about their own existence. With each generation the race would become more and more malformed due to the inbreeding. While their perfect celestial wings experiencing no such deformities, overpowering their appearence, almost mocking them by showing what they could've been, if they weren't hybrids.

Society[edit]

The Thiapsen society is comprised of scattered, but near to each other tribes. That is for the purpose of easy access for communication and easy emotional disconnection for if any tribe has to get killed to save resources. They always approach their human needs with the mindfulness of their celestial mind, creating a deep philosophical culture within the race. Discussing topics such as "Should our human side be fully ignored due to it's inefficiency?", "Should we ignore our celestial side and let human emotions take over?". Despite their tribal culture and behaviours, they're a very wise and wellspoken race. Thanks to their wings, they could easily fly out onto the surface, but they're too scared. Some of them leave and never come back, leaving the population even more concerned. The tragic history, conditions, ancestry and moral dilemmas of this race left the Thiapsens deeply conflicted and depressed. Yet that does not change the fact, they are part angels - beings of goodness. They are optimistic, generous and virtuous. They are hopeful of a better future, that one day they'll inherit the birthplace of their "Primordial Parents".
