The Sea of Stars (5e Subclass)
The Sea of Stars[edit]
Warlock Subclass
The Sea of Stars is a patron from the vast, eternal reaches of the cosmos, where stars are born, die, and fade into the void. Warlocks who make pacts with this celestial being tap into the boundless power of the night sky, gaining the ability to manipulate the fabric of space and time, wield radiant energy, and draw strength from the constellations above.
Expanded Spell List[edit]
The Starry Night allows you to choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.
Sea of Stars Expanded Spells[edit]
Spell level | Spells |
---|---|
1st | catapult, faerie fire |
2nd | flaming sphere, moonbeam |
3rd | blinding smite, daylight |
4th | Divination, hallucinatory terrain |
5th | dawn, dream |
Starborn Magic[edit]
At 1st level, you gain the ability to call upon the power of the stars to guide and empower you. You gain the following benefits:
- Stellar Form: As a bonus action, you can transform into a shimmering being of light and stardust for 1 minute. While in this form, you gain a flying speed equal to your movement speed, and your attacks deal additional radiant damage equal to your Charisma modifier. You can use this ability once, regaining the ability to do so after finishing a long rest.
- Celestial Guidance: You can add your Charisma modifier to any Wisdom (Survival) checks or Intelligence (Arcana) checks, as your connection with the stars enhances your senses and awareness of the world around you.
Cosmic Conduit[edit]
At 6th level, your patron imbues you with the power to manipulate the fabric of space itself. You can use the following abilities. After using either, you can't use this feature again until you finish a short or long rest:
- Gravitational Pull: As an Action, choose a Medium or smaller creature within 30 feet you can see. The target must succeed on a Strength saving throw or is pulled up to 30 feet towards you and is paralyzed for 1 minute or until you lose concentration (as if it were a spell). At the end of each of its turns, the target can make another Strength saving throw. On a success, the spell ends on the target.
- Warping Space: You can teleport a distance equal to five times your Warlock level in feet as a bonus action. You must be able to see the destination point, that must be unoccupied.
Zodiac Blessing[edit]
At 10th level, your patron imbues you with the power of the stars, granting you the protective influence of various constellations. Choose one constellation to represent your date of birth. You gain benefits related to the chosen constellation.
- Leo. You have Advantage on Saving Throws against being charmed, and is immune to the frightened condition.
- Serpens. You have advantage on saving throws against being poisoned or restrained, and you have resistance to poison damage.
- Aquila. You have advantage on saving throws against being paralyzed, and is immune to the blinded or stunned condition.
- Taurus. You have advantage on saving throws against being knocked prone or moved against your will. You also have resistance to bludgeoning damage from attacks that push or knock you back.
Infinite Horizon[edit]
At 14th level, you fully merge with the vast, endless sea of stars. You gain the ability to take on the true form of a being from the stars. For 1 minute, you gain the following benefits:
- You have resistance to all damage except force damage.
- Your attacks deal an additional 2d8 radiant damage.
- You can use the Teleport spell once during the minute without expending a spell slot.
Once you use this ability, you must finish a long rest before you can use it again. Alternatively, you can spend one use of this feature to cast astral projection, targeting yourself only.
