The Forest Incarnate (5e Subclass)
From D&D Wiki
The Forest Incarnate[edit]
Warlock Subclass
Your patron is Yuhan, a mysterious and powerful nature spirit. Yuhan is a reflection of nature in its truest form; Yuhan is a brutal, unforgiving creature who only respects those that understand and respect nature. Horrible things may very well befall those who worship Yuhan, (in fact, many fall into worship of Yuhan through acts of tragedy) but these are typically tests to see if one is even worthy of Yuhans blessings. Fortunately for you, Yuhan finds you worthy. Or perhaps he does not, and his actions are being misinterpreted as many acts of nature are.
Expanded Spell List[edit]
At 1st level, Yuhan lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.
Spell Level | Spells |
---|---|
1st | hunter's mark, speak with animals |
2nd | augury, maximilian’s earthen grasp |
3rd | conjure animals, leomund's tiny hut |
4th | dominate beast, Blight |
5th | commune, wrath of nature |
Enact the Wild Hunt[edit]
Starting at 1st level, you’ve learned to mark your prey. Choose one creature you can see within 120 feet; that creature must make a Wisdom saving throw. If they succeed, nothing more happens. If they fail, you may gain the following benefits:
- Damage rolls against the affected creature gain a bonus equal to your Wisdom Modifier.
- If the affected creature makes an attack roll against you, you can expend your reaction to force the creature to subtract 1d4 from their attack roll.
- Whenever moving towards the affected creature, your movement speed doubles.
The effect ends if the affected creature moves more than 1 mile from you, or if the affected creature is knocked unconscious.
You can use this feature an amount of times equal to your Wisdom modifier, after which you must finish a short or long rest to do so again.
Animal Instincts[edit]
Starting at 6th level, you’ve learned to let your instincts guide you. When combat begins, on your turn, you must choose between fight or flight.
If you choose fight, you gain the following benefits:
- You critically hit on a roll of 19 and 20
- You make death saving throws with advantage
- Attacks made against creatures marked by enact the wild hunt are made with advantage
If you choose flight, you gain the following benefits:
- Your movement speed doubles
- You have advantage on stealth checks made during combat
- When attempting to hide, blindsight and tremor sense can’t sense you
Boons of the Forest[edit]
Starting at 10th level, Yuhan’s domain rises up to protect you. When in an exclusively natural environment, such as a forest, tundra, or jungle, you gain a few benefits which are listed below:
- When you are targeted by an effect such as melee attack, a ranged attack, or a spell that deals damage in an area, you can expend your reaction to impose disadvantage on the effects roll, or grant yourself advantage on the effects saving throw.
- If you are rendered unconscious, or otherwise reduced to 0 hit points, you can still expend your movement speed on your turn. This does not extend to your flying or swimming speed, if you have one.
If you are in a settlement, dungeon or otherwise in an area where the natural environment you’re in isn’t immediately available to you, you cannot benefit from these features. You can use this feature an amount of times equal to your Wisdom modifier, after which you must finish a short rest to do so again.
Apex Predator[edit]
Starting at 14th level, you’ve earned your place in the food chain. Creatures whose CR, or level, is ¼ of your warlock level make attack rolls against you with disadvantage, and damage they deal against you is halved.
