The Feastbearer (5e Subclass)
The Feastbearer[edit]
Warlocks who serve the Feastbearer are bound to a mysterious entity associated with the culinary arts, sustenance, and the magic of food. Whether it is a god of feasting, a mischievous fae gourmand, or a sentient manifestation of the universal need to nourish, the Feastbearer is a being of indulgence, vitality, and consequence. It is a patron whose essence blends the mundane with the extraordinary, infusing everyday nourishment with transformative power.
The Feastbearer’s magic is not just about providing food but about weaving the act of sharing and consumption into the very fabric of life. They shape the act of eating into a ritual of communal bonding, healing, and vitality. For the warlocks who answer the call, this bond is one of abundance and vitality, but also of responsibility. To serve the Feastbearer is to embrace the power of sustenance, the weight of excess, and the consequences of neglect.

Spell Level | Spells |
---|---|
1st Level | Goodberry, Faerie Fire |
2nd Level | Spiritual Weapon, Calm Emotions |
3rd Level | Create Food and Water, Leomund's Tiny Hut |
4th Level | Guardian of Faith, Freedom of Movement |
5th Level | Greater Restoration, Geas |
6th Level | Heroes' Feast |
Blessing of Sustenance[edit]
At 1st level, you gain the ability to conjure magical nourishment that carries the essence of your patron. As an action, you can create a meal or treat, infused with magical warmth and energy, and administer it to yourself or an ally within 5 feet. The meal grants:
Temporary hit points equal to your warlock level (rounded up), up to a maximum of 6 temporary hit points.
Removes one condition of your choice: poisoned, frightened, or charmed.
You can use this ability a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.
At 6th level, the temporary hit points increase to 6 + your Charisma modifier (rounded up), up to a maximum of 10 temporary hit points. You can now administer nourishment to two allies within range, rather than just one.
At 10th level, the temporary hit points increase to 8 + your Charisma modifier (rounded up), up to a maximum of 12 temporary hit points. You may now remove two conditions: poisoned, frightened, or charmed.
At 14th level, the temporary hit points increase to 10 + your Charisma modifier (rounded up), up to a maximum of 15 temporary hit points. You may now remove three conditions: poisoned, frightened, charmed, paralyzed, or stunned.
At 18th level, the temporary hit points increase to 12 + your Charisma modifier (rounded up), up to a maximum of 20 temporary hit points. You may now remove four conditions: poisoned, frightened, charmed, paralyzed, stunned, or blinded. You can also administer nourishment to three allies within range.
Bound Vessel[edit]
Also, at 1st level, through a 1-hour ritual, you transform an object with internal storage (such as a pot, box, or bag) into your Bound Vessel, a pact boon unique to your connection with the Feastbearer. The Bound Vessel has the following properties:
- Heat Source: Part of this Bound Vessel is magically heated, always maintaining a temperature of 350°F internally.
- Storage: The Bound Vessel can store an unlimited amount of food and drink, ignoring weight and size limitations. However, it cannot store creatures, beasts, or anything otherwise that would be too large to fit inside.
- Scalding Defense: As a reaction when a creature within 5 feet of you damages you, you can release a burst of magical heat. The attacker must make a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, the attacker takes fire damage equal to your Charisma modifier + half your warlock level. On a successful save, they take half as much damage.
- Potion Brewing: Starting at 6th level, the Bound Vessel can now brew magical potions. Once per long rest, you can use the Bound Vessel to prepare a healing potion (using the standard potion rules). The potion restores 2d4 + your Charisma modifier hit points. The potion can be consumed by yourself or an ally. Alternatively, you can brew one of the following potions (though not limited to these) once per long rest. You are encouraged to collaborate with the DM to create unique potions that align with your character’s journey and the needs of the party:
- Potion of Vigor: Grants temporary hit points equal to 1d6 + your Charisma modifier for 1 hour.
- Potion of Focus: Grants advantage on concentration saving throws for 1 hour.
If your Bound Vessel is lost or destroyed, you can recreate it during a long rest.
Empowering Feast[edit]
At 6th level, you can create a magical feast that invigorates and restores your allies. Over the course of 10 minutes, you prepare a hearty meal for up to six creatures. The feast exudes a comforting warmth and enticing aroma, uplifting those who partake. The benefits last for 1 hour after consuming the meal, and a creature can only gain these benefits once per long rest. Each creature gains:
- Temporary hit points equal to your warlock level.
- Advantage on saving throws against being frightened or charmed.
- Advantage on Constitution saving throws to maintain concentration.
- If a creature is a spellcaster, they regain one expended spell slot of up to 3rd level. For warlocks, the spell slot must be of the level granted by your Pact Magic feature.
You can use this feature once per long rest.
Epicurean Surge[edit]
At 10th-level, your patron empowers you to channel the spirit of feasting and abundance, uplifting your allies while overwhelming your foes. Once per long rest, you can unleash a magical wave of abundance in a 30-foot radius centered on yourself.
- Foes: Each creature of your choice within range must succeed on a Constitution saving throw against your spell save DC or fall prone, overwhelmed by indulgence and lethargy.
- Allies: All allies within the radius with less than half of their maximum hit points regain hit points equal to 1d8 + your Charisma modifier, up to half of their maximum hit points. Additionally, each affected ally gains advantage on their next attack roll or saving throw made before the end of their next turn.
Feast of Knowledge[edit]
At 14th level, once per long rest, you can prepare a magical feast that grants the benefits of Heroes' Feast spell to you and your allies, but with the following adjustments:
- Each creature gains temporary hit points equal to 10 + your Charisma modifier.
- Each creature has advantage on saving throws against being frightened or charmed for 4 hours.
- As part of the feast, you may ask your patron a single question related to your journey, the campaign’s events, or the Feastbearer’s influence. Your patron answers truthfully, though the response is left to the DM’s discretion and may be vague, cryptic, or require interpretation.
