The Cave Being[edit]

Warlock Subclass

You have made a pact with a cave deity. Such entities aren’t oblivious to the surface world, but they are present mostly and establish their domain in the caverns and tunnels from below the earth. These deities usually share their powers with creatures that live below the surface, such as drow or duergar, but they don’t limit their services to just underground folk, everyone is able to be blessed by them as long as they are ready to serve them.

Expanded Spell List[edit]

At 1st level, the cave being lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.

2nd misty step, darkvision
3rd meld into stone, counterspell
4th stone shape, widogast's vault of amber
5th conjure elemental (only earth), scrying

Way of the Cavern[edit]

Starting at 1st level, you gain capabilities that make you adequate for life in a cave. You gain 30ft of darkvision, also your climbing speed is always equal to your walking speed.

Hollow Gift[edit]

At 6th level your patron bestows upon you some abilities that make you perfectly capable of defending yourself to some threats in caverns. You gain resistance to force damage, as well as bludgeoning, slashing and piercing damage caused by objects falling on you. You cannot be deafened and blinded by magical means.

Cave Wall Summoning[edit]

At 10th level, you gain the ability to use the walls of the caves below you to redirect attacks. Whenever you or an ally makes a ranged attack or spell and they miss their target, you can apparate a spectral wall and choose to make that attack hit instead, you can also change the target it hits. The wall is translucent but you can’t go through it, you cannot break it with non-magical means.

Once you use this feature you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.

Grotto Frenzy[edit]

At 14th level, you are perfectly adapted to cavern living and are able to make any space your cave. Whenever you are in a enclosed space you can enter a frenzy in which your power raises greatly for 1 minute, you gain the following benefits:

When this effect ends your move is halved for a minute. Once you use this feature you can’t use it again until you finish 1d4 long rests.
