Thalassocnus is a large sloth that spends most of its time in the water, living off the coasts and dining on seagrass. These sloths use their claws to anchor themselves to the seafloor, dig up seagrass at the roots, or grasp their food while they graze. Although not fast swimmers, they are certainly successful where they are found and make an important prey base for sharks and predatory whales.

Variant: Bottom Punting Thalassocnus

Although thalassocnus was initially a swimmer, later evolved species simply walked along the bottom. A bottom punting thalassocnus has no swim speed and instead has the following trait:
Dense. The thalassocnus always sinks in water. It ignores the extra movement cost for moving through water.
