Terrabain[edit]

A lost people that wander the land, the Terrabain have come to live in the wilderness on the outskirts of civilization. They are a nomadic people; only settling down for the winters, while they follow the herds of animals that cross the plains in the summers. Their culture is deeply rooted in the shamanistic ways. They do not have much in the ways of religion, as they believe the land is all they need. There is no real heirarchy in Terrabain society; many try to simply co-exist with eachother. There is a village elder who speaks for the individual tribes, as well as makes important decisions. Title of village elder is given to the oldest and most wise Terrabain. While the Terrabain are not commonly known for using magic of the arcane, nearly every tribe has a shaman that performs rituals.

Physical Description[edit]

Before delving into what the Terrabain acts like, it is important to first understand what they look like. The Terrabain are feathered creatures, with a bird-like head and a human body. Their feathers can be white, black, brown, etc., however the lighter, more extravagent colors are not usually seen (green, blue, pink etc.) Their beak can range in sizes, and can also differ in color. The Terrabain do not have wings. Their arms, torso, and legs are all human-like. Expect a Terrabain to tower over most humans, ranging in height from 6'5 to 8'5. Their eyes are usually yellow, green, or red.

Personalities[edit]

As with all races, a Terrabain's personality can vary. Most Terrabain are peaceful. They strive not for land, not for wealth, but to live a good and happy life. (There are exceptions.) A Terrabain is not weak, and will fight to protect his/her family and tribe. Terrabain tend to keep to themselves, sharing their personal feelings with only their loved ones and very close, trusted friends.

Relations[edit]

The Terrabain are a peaceful race, as stated under Personalities. As such, they are at war with none and hated by few. They are most friendly towards Elven kind, as both have taken to the wooded areas of the land. Terrabain will deal with humans, if the occasion calls for it. Terrabain do not like living in cities, or even staying the night in one. Terrabain are very cautious towards arcane magic users, and feel that those who would harm the earth with it are evil.

Alignment[edit]

Any alignment is acceptable, however Terrabain tend to lean towards lawful and good ends of the spectrum.

Locations[edit]

The Terrabain are a nomadic people, and as such have no permanent settlements. They are commonly seen on the plains and in the woods, and sometimes in the mountains.

Languages[edit]

Terrabain speak common and Terrabain. Terrabain, to a human, would sound like a series of calls and squawks.

Names[edit]

Terrabain have very rustic style names, something that would seem almost native american while keeping a feudal touch.
