Toy Canin that are smaller than usual

Sometimes a Canin will be born different than others of his breed. These Canin are unusually small, making them weaker and less tough than other members of their breed. These individuals are called Teacup Canin, because they are too small to even be considered Toys.

  • Note: While extraordinarily rare (1% chance), it is possible for a Toy Canin to be born with both the Teacup and Bully Breed Templates.

Creating a Teacup Canin[edit]

Teacup is an inherited template that can be added to any Toy Breed Canin or Tiny dog-like humanoid or monstrous humanoid (hereafter referred to as the base creature), but is most common in chihuahuas, toy poodles, and yorkies. A Teacup uses all the base creature’s statistics and abilities except as noted here

Size and Type[edit]

The base creature’s type remains unchanged. Their size decreases to Diminutive changing their bonuses and penalties to +4 size bonus to AC, +4 size bonus on attack rolls, +12 size bonus on hide checks, -12 size penalty on grapple checks, and his carrying capacity is reduced to 1/4 that of a Medium creature

Special Qualities[edit]

A Teacup Canin retains all of the special qualities of the base creature and also gains those as described below

Fragile: Due to their builds, Teacups can be injured more easily than other breeds. They subtract 1 from their hit points gained at each level, including first (to a minimum of 0)

Environmental Intolerance: Due to their lack of body fat, Teacups are very sensitive to extreme temperatures, both heat and cold. As soon as they suffer any damage from heat or cold environmental hazards, they are considered exhausted instead of fatigued. Additionally, a Teacup not properly equipped to counteract the heat or cold must attempt a Fortitude saving throw every 30 minutes (DC 15, +1 for each previous check). Failure means that the character loses 2d4 hit points. Heavy clothing or armor provides a –8 penalty on saves against heat but grants a +4 equipment bonus on saves against cold. A character who succeeds at a Survival check (DC 15) gains a +4 competence bonus on the save (see the Survival skill). Searing heat or bitter cold (desert or arctic conditions) forces a character to make a Fortitude save every 5 minutes. Failure means that the character loses 2d6 hit points. Appropriate clothing and successful use of the Survival skill can modify the save, as noted above.

Poison Intolerance: Teacup Canin are very sensitive to poisons. They take -4 Penalty on all Saving Throws against Poison.
