And now time for everyone's favorite antithesis to Lucario. Making Zoroark was challenging, but fun. Challenging in the sense that I wanted to incorporate so much into it while trying to NOT make it a broken mess. Trickster (which is just a slightly edited version of Firbolg Magic) was a given since Zoroark is all about illusions. The part about the Disguise Self spell's effect ending prematurely upon taking damage was, of course, meant to reflect the Pokemon game's mechanics and how a Zoroark's illusion is broken upon taking damage. I originally wanted to give Zoroark it's signature move Night Daze, but couldn't figure out how to get it to work, so I just went with the next best thing: Night Slash. Shadow Dash was kind of a last minute addition more or less because I felt it needed a little something more than just an unarmed attack and a couple of spells, plus there's also the fact that Zoroark is a rather speedy pokemon.

There are a few references in the History and Society sections to the anime and games. The "legend" of a young green haired man being a Zoroark is based on the theory that N from Black and White is a Zoroark. The plot of "Zoroark: Master of Illusions" is referenced in the section about a mother Zoroark attacking a city for the sake of her son. An episode of the anime titled "The Island of Illusions" is referenced in the last portion of the Society section where it mentions a Zoroark who works with a nurse to help pokemon. Lastly, a special event Zoroark distributed for ORAS and XY back in November 2015 is referenced in the race summary, which calls them "Sly, black fox pokemon". Sly was the OT (original trainer) for the distributed Zoroarks.

Trickster[edit]

While the ability is modeled off the Firbolg abilities, there is one minor problem with it. Firbolg gives 2 1st level spells, that they can cast on a long or short rest. Trickster gives a cantrip and a 1st level spell. At least in my opinion, it would make more sense to give minor illusion as a cantrip, and disguise self once per long or short rest.--Draconm (talk) 08:41, 11 August 2019 (MDT)

Huh, I didn't notice I worded it like that. Fixed. --MetalShadowOverlord (talk) 19:40, 11 August 2019 (MDT)
