Talk:Witcher (5e Class)
From D&D Wiki
so if i have a great sword at level 2 i can not only run at them at 40-45 ft/round i can also never miss because my roll + my dexterity mod + my proficiency mod + whatever weapon master feat does?
OP?[edit]
I would say that the Hexer Class is significantly more powerful than most base classes, but that is due to their unique background. I would hardly say that having a greatsword with dex and proficiency bonus to hit equals an automatic hit. Keep in mind it is dex bonus OR strength bonus but not both. I play this class in our campaign and trust me at times I can't hit the broad side of a barn.
What's Vigor Do?[edit]
Hey there, just wondering what Vigor does before you get your Hexes, because I can't see a use, or any kind of explaination on Vigor whatsoever. Thanks.
I just looked over some of the changes people have made and the class has been significantly buffed. People keep adding points and proficiencies. Like heavy armor... only wolf should get heavy armor as I had it. I kind of go with the flow but someone was pretty generous with the vigor points. Arklorn (the one who posted this class)
Definitive Witcher Class[edit]
So I've seen this one and the variant version which both have been heavily revised over the months, both pretty much the same, almost word for word for the most part with slight changes between the two but my question is, if one will be deleted over the other for a more definitive version that people can look up and not have compare which one to choose if they're basically the same? Also, will this class be revised more, in the sense of an overhaul or will it just be tweaked here and there. I'm not particularly adept at monkeying around with class design so I feel I can't really say what should be changed just whether will it be changed or is this it and I can hope to use it in my campaign without much worrying that'll be too confusing or imbalanced.
- can you link the page this is almost a copy of please? BigShotFancyMan (talk) 21:40, 24 August 2018 (MDT)
- ?? Er ok. https://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Witcher,_Variant_(5e_Class) not sure this works. Not computer savvy either Though they’re both clearly listed on the classes section of the 5e homebrew page
Witcher Schools[edit]
When will the Griffon school be added to this? Under Witcher schools it lists Wolf, Cat, Viper, Bear & Griffon, but when you go down to read about each of the schools in detail Griffon isn't listed.
Admin Review[edit]
Could an explanation be provided about why the classes recent buffs are over the top? I am not intimately familiar with the class, I can easily see static +2 bonuses, die type increases and quantity increases. Perhaps Witchslayer can explain why the buffs necessary? It is an easy fix if the edits are unwarranted though or WS doesn't explain the OP nature. ~BigShotFancyMan talk 08:00, 11 August 2019 (MDT)
The class has had significant increases to multiple areas that include greater weapon fighting, Senses and potions to name a few. They all seek to increase the power to a ridiculous level for an already powerful class. There are so many increases across the board that add up to making the class too powerful and not in balance with what it was before. I suggest a variant class if WS wants to keep the changes. - I reverted the edits since you responded and the other did not yet. I also agree with most of your points but didn't want to just change on my perspective. Thanks. ~BigShotFancyMan talk 09:52, 18 August 2019 (MDT)
I loved the class only suggestions according to the books and game[edit]
The witches are very resistant in the games and demonstrated as one that was tortured resisted 3 months basically without water and food besides the torture, I would like it to apply more bomb effects and effects not so strong, but related to the very strong mutant system of the witches and their recovery and endurance.
