Talk:War Sickle (3.5e Equipment)

Deletion[edit]
A khopesh? I am aware of their existence, but I did not have them in mind when I wrote the article, nor was I aware that it was in the arms and equipment guide. I am looking this up in the arms and equipment guide.1337 w0n (talk) 11:08, 13 March 2013 (MDT)
I've looked it up; the khopesh varies from this weapon in the following ways: it is heavier, less damaging, cheaper, and has a greater critical chance; in appearance, the blade is on the outward side of the curve (where as the war sickle blade is only on the inside of the curve) and the curve is less pronounced. It has more in common with an arakh (a weapon which I was wholly unaware of when I wrote the article) rather than a khopesh.1337 w0n (talk) 11:37, 13 March 2013 (MDT)
Naming[edit]
I am considering changing the name of the article to "Arakh" because of the similarities of the weapons, however I am not entirely sure about the anatomy of the weapon. Could some one confirm that the blade is ONLY on the inward side of the curve?1337 w0n (talk) 11:52, 13 March 2013 (MDT)
- So I could only find references to a fictional weapon used in A Game of Thrones and A Song of Fire and Ice. I've seen images with double-edges [1], but this discussion makes some good points. Since they are designed for horseback use, the edge would be on the outer edge, and they would be longer than a khopesh. Marasmusine (talk) 02:09, 14 March 2013 (MDT)
