Talk:Ursinals, Beastland (3.5e Race)
From D&D Wiki
10 feet tall and 2000 lbs is a bit extreme on the weight, don't you think? --Ganre 22:43, 11 May 2008 (MDT)
Taedom - Large Size Creature EX - BEAR BROWN, MM269 Excerpt taken directly from MM These are massive carnivores weighing more than 1800 pounds and stand nearly 9 feet tall when they rear up on their hind legs. THE BROWN BEARS STATISTICS CAN BE USED FOR ALMOST ANY BIG BEAR I rest my case.
- Fair enough. Also, i noticed they don't have reach, as most bears do not, I'll assume that intentional, however, bite attacks usually apply 1/2 str damage. 2/3'a of the bears in the MM have improved grab with their bites, and all have scent and low-light vision, are there any plans to add these Special Qualities? --Ganre 22:48, 11 May 2008 (MDT)
The bite is something i certainly missed as well as thinking about scent. Those are definitely bases i need to cover and i appreciate you pointing these out. As for scent specifically though, I'm not sure. The way i've always played it out in my campaign is that if they wanted scent, the option was there, however, they had to spend a feat to get it. I appreciate you pointing these issues out.
- You could add illiteracy, with a -6 in Intelligence I doubt any wizard (or other spellcaster) will come out of this race. --Lord Dhazriel 08:27, 23 May 2008 (MDT)
good idea ill throw that on because that definitely makes sense. good touch Dhazriel.
Recent Revision[edit]
I reverted an IP edit that served to double the str and con mods, while lowering the level adjustment. The edit only seemed to desire a stronger end result, and was not discussed. If you want to apply these changes, please discuss them here first. --Ganre 14:10, 29 March 2012 (MDT)
