Talk:Third-Eye Spellbook (3.5e Equipment)
From D&D Wiki
Rambling Warning: Lots. This seems similar to a SRD:Blessed Book, but other than that, I can't think of specific examples to use. I would say that it would be cheaper than a SRD:Blessed Book (12,500gp market price CL7, but 1000 spell levels), though it does have the bigger benefit of being nearly unable to be lost, vorpal aside. It also would be cheaper because of taking an item slot, but not much because of the ability to remove it whenever you are done preparing spells. As for the cost of writing in spells, the SRD:Blessed Book has no cost to write spells in, so this could have that ability as well. Seeing as it is illusion anyway, would a character need scribe scroll to make one? Perhaps this is simply a way around that. My best guess on the cost? As cheap as 500gp (the cost of 50 cantrip scrolls -20% for occupying the face slot)or as expensive as 2250 (level 1 spell times CL3 times 750- as a 50 charge item.) I'm starting to lean to the price of 625g- especially when I realized the SRD:Blessed Book price of 12500 = 25gX cantrip level spell (1/2)X1000. --Blah? 19:29, 19 December 2010 (MST)
- Edit- Turns out I'm dumb- I confused writing scrolls with writing into your spellbook- which costs 100g a page/spell level, cantrips being 1 page. Still, I stand by what I said. :P --I iz Cricket, hear me chirp. 03:34, 20 December 2010 (MST)
