I should start off by stating I don't expect or want any replies on this, this is just me airing some grievances related to this page. Anyone familiar with Battle Tendency will recognize that I added some non-insignificant editorialize to Stroheim. I personally find it impossible to reconcile the brutal Major who tortured and killed civilians in Mexico with the character he becomes as a cyborg Colonel, and in turn reconcile the Colonel with dying proud in Stalingrad. While the Major does, the Colonel doesn't strike me as the kind of character to agree with Nazi Germany's sociopolitical actions, and so I have rationalized his proud death as being more about making sure the country he loves survives Soviet Russia and the Reich, since true patriotism extends beyond the current reigning political ideology and "do no evil" mindsets. --Ref3rence (talk) 17:58, 9 July 2020 (MDT)
