Talk:Stockbroker (5e Class)
From D&D Wiki
Hey, it's the author of this page. All jokes aside, thanks for taking a look at this little class here. It was pretty fun to make.
While it is an April Fools class, I did my best to both make it relatively balanced and give the class an interesting play pattern. The general idea was to go for a sort of battlefield control concept with a lot of out of combat utility options, and some interesting strategies that can be used to maximize some of the more odd abilities. The class almost entirely relies on Short Rest recovery rather than long rest recovery, because a real Stockbroker never gets to long rest.
The Alcoholic Subclass is aimed at being an interesting damage option because the class general relies entirely on its "Proclaiming the Stock Market" otherwise.
The Wolf is meant to embody the concept of a Stockbroker, and generally leans more towards being defensive and supportive. The "Insider Trading" ability is potentially game breaking as it is essentially a reaction Portent that can be used 6 times, but it is the virtual capstone of the Stockbroker and is intended to be the strongest ability the class can get.
The Redeemed is the stand-in for the lack of Multiclassing; so you can leave this class. Technically you could probably multiclass this, but I didn't balance it around that so I have no idea what could happen.
I would like to keep this class relatively balanced though, regardless of its April Fools nature, so I'd gladly take comments or concerns about it.
Cheers mates.
