Talk:Shield Master (5e Class)
From D&D Wiki
- Melee weapon attacks normally add Strength modifier to damage, not proficiency bonus. Why is this different?
- There's no "tower shield" in the PHB, so is this referring to a homebrew item?
- There isn't a "dominant hand"
- How does shield jump work? Is this an action that you are taking, or is it something that happens on the "allies" turn?
- Redirect. "reaction action" -> "reaction". You only get one reaction per turn, so you don't need to state "once per round". "Within 5 feet", not "adjacent". 5e has "areas of effect" but not specifically an "area effect attack". Things that have an area of effect dosn't use an attack roll, so if you state correctly that this is triggered by an attack, this is an unnecessary caveat.
- Shield Bash. Don't say "per short/long rest" as it's ambiguous when you regain use of this. Say "You can use this feature 3 times. When you finish a short rest or long rest, you regain your uses of shield bash."
- Shield Block. You need to be more specific about what this is triggered on. This might make sense against , say, burning hands, but not against evard's black tentacles.
- Greater Strength. A Strength save is a Strength roll. Do you mean Strength checks?
- Guard Maneuvers. There is no "trip and disarm" attempts in the core rules. You don't make a saving throw against being grapples. This is basic unfamiliarity with the rules.
- Stand Ground. There isn't a "knocked back". Maybe you want to tie this in with the shoving rule.
- Glorious Presence. All allies everywhere? Even those that are no-where near you?
- Omnipresent and Denting Blows just need the correct terminology. Marasmusine (talk) 07:34, 30 November 2016 (MST)
Took a crack at polishing up your class design. I tried to stick to your concept as much as possible.
