1000d4? One thousand!? Setting aside just how one is supposed to roll that many dice, that's an average of 2,500 psychic damage, enough to kill the tarrasque in a single hit more than three times! The listed monk ability requires ki points to use, meaning it can only ever be used six times at level 20, or an average of 330 damage on six successful saves (and with a +10 bonus on Constitution saving throws, the tarrasque is very likely to succeed on the save). Well its a save or die spell so i don't think anybody actually roll that but you're right.I've been playing with a group for years and we usually have 2 optimized character for fights in a party of 5 so our games are a little more chaotic than most, thats why i don't think it's that much of a overpowered ability but yeah i see your point. At tier 4 people can do a lot,if my necromancer friend over there can have a young dragon every day I can one shot tarassque no biggie.Bad jokes aside not being balanced is the game at tier 4 moon druids can heal for 120 hp every round, new chronurgy wizard can shapechange in to a creature that is immune to exhausts(ex:planetar) and can decide everything around them, you can have demiplanes with bunch of traps, having an army of simulacrums. At tier 4 most creatures don't impose a threat to players in 5e especially if you're only using stat blocks and not lore, adding lore appropriate abilities to creatures can make them challenging and is a must in my opinion.I'll keep the ability as it is for now, until I get feedback from tier 4 play in a party. If it is a big problem I'll add a variant like quivering palm(reduced to 0 hit point on a fail),with a dex save that should still be powerful enough.Thank you.
