Lasting Runes Balance[edit]

I think there is an issue with Lasting Runes allowing a spell to be placed into a weapon, then permenantly casted as a bonus action. I think it would be important to keep the spell as an action. Otherwise, triple fireball. (bonus action to cast it from weapon, action to cast it using a spell slot, Action Surge, cast it again as a bonus action). Even without Action Surge, being able to double fireball in one round isn't good for action economy. BigShotFancyMan (talk) 19:03, 18 August 2018 (MDT)

I couldn't find another way to respond so I'm doing it like this. I think this is fine for two reasons: one is that they actually can't cast fireball in this manner as it must be of 2nd level or lower. The other reason is that whatever they do use, it still comes from the wizard's spell slots. Casting the spell 3 times could screw over the wizard, but I still think it is a good idea to add that they can only do this once per turn to save the DM some frustration. Thank you! If not fireball then another spell. It isn't about the slots, it is about the action economy. The current edit helps but only to allow the feature to be used once per turn. It would still allow a spell to be cast as an action. I know it uses slots but I think action economy has priority on what to consider. BigShotFancyMan (talk) 08:30, 22 August 2018 (MDT)
