WeirdoWhoever's Review (on the Older Version)[edit]

Note: This is a review on the older version before I attempted rework. Things are now different.

Note: I am writing this note as I skim the main article. It may not be very organized, but then, it is just a note.

Okay, seriously. Where do I even start?

Apparently the template is broken, for I can see the summary at the article and not the table. That is just the beginning.

Sacrier's main abilities are Constitution... and one of the four abilities, each tied to its "Atonement", which I suppose is the archetype. Okay, moving on.

Hit Dice is d10... okay... Proficiency in light armors... okay...

Proficiency in unarmed weapons... Heck, even monks do not have this one.

Only one save throw proficiency. Hmmm.

Tattered robes can be just a fluff. If the class has proficiency in light armor, then it could at least give one.

No such thing as health potion in D&D, although there is potion of healing. Which is a common magic item. I know it is common, but it still is a magic item.

No weapons given. I guess the first level must be all unarmed combat. Again, even monks have weapons in their starting gears.

Okay, moving on to features.

Sacrier's Blood

Manipulation on blood is a good fluff, although somewhat squicky, but it needs more descriptions. To what extent can I control my own blood? Can I manipulate blood that is not shed, i.e. the blood in my own body?

So your base AC becomes 10 + your Constitution modifier. Which is a degraded version of barbarian's Unarmored Defense.

Pain Shared

Okay, full stop. Percentage calculations. This is not good. What do you think this is all about, F.A.T.A.L.?

So I have to count every five rounds (I guess that is what the original contributer meant) so my awesome buff is reset. Barbarian's Rage has better ways to reset things. Also, it grants bonus to ability checks and saving throws, as well as damage rolls.

Sacrier's Bond

Great, now that the archetype is spread through the entire freakin' page, I have to scroll back and forth to find out which belongs to which. Apparently archetype features are given at 2nd, 5th, 7th... and that is all. No further archetype features.

Sarcrier's Destruction

How the heck do I even "naturally fall below 0 hit points?" I think this is some other Indomitable features found in half-orc traits and barbarian features, but at, like, 3rd level. If I were to multiclass I am definitely going to dip Sacrier 3, no matter what. And this is the 5th edition, where multiclassing is highly discouraged.

Blood Armor of the Sacrier

4th-level feature. This does not end well.

So your base AC is now 10 + your Dexterity modifier (max. 4) + your Constitution modifier (max. 4) ? Why not just plain, good ol' Unarmored Defense?

Leek Pie

I am not going to say a word with the feature name, except that the first impression was some bad jokes about Hatsune Miku.

I do not even get what the Leek Pie is, and it suddenly shoots projectile, each different from the archetype. This is just confusing.

6th level is dead. Oh well.

Sacrier's Luck

Initial attack is vague. Besides, it all runs with nonsensual archetype features.

Scariers Familiar [sic]

Oh, now you get a familiar? And it is temporary? And it does nothing cool than just being an ordinary creature straight from the MM?

Well, except for chaferfu or whatever. Why, it has the chance of attacking the allies! Meh, I am not going to summon chaferfu. Ever.

Bonus Hit Points

So your capstone... is a badly degraded version of barbarian's capstone. Lame, at best.

"My Constitution modifier by 5?" So what, I can get -25 to 25 hit point maximum when I reach 10th and again at 20th level?

Bloodthisrty Madness

So I can damage my allies around me by 1d20-1, even downright killing them, to heal myself. Too risky. No one will come closer to me.

Life Transfer

And I can give my hit points to one of my friend, and it can kill me. Yay. Now my friends will be around me again. At my deathbed, that is.

The problem with Bloodthirsty Madness and Life Transfer is (a) they can be one combined feature rather than a set of separate features, and (b) you cannot determine how much you and ally lose hit points. Randomness is a delicate one concerning tabletop games, which is why I hate so much when I have to build an investigator on Call of Cthulhu. Why cannot I make my character as I want to?

Bonus Action

So what do I really get, an action or an reaction? Fighter's Action Surge gives you bonus action as well, and it is not a passive feature. Two actions at a price of one? With no Extra Attack so far? No thanks.

Double Damage

Percentage. Calculations. Nuff said.

Give and Take

PERCENTAGE. CALCULATIONS. Seriously, what is up with all these percents?

Weapon Master

Frankly speaking, adding Constitution modifier to weaponry was something new. But I do not find why. What, I hit as hard as I am? (Heh heh, I said hard.)

18th level is dead, too. Might as well myself is dead by now.

Sacrier Double

Wait, what? Was not the badly distributed hit point bonus a capstone?

So a double. Great. And it halves my damage output. I want to see how much damage my double can make with a torch (1 fire).

Moving on to archetypes. Give up. No, seriously. I gave up even trying to read archetype whatnots at the 2nd-level features. More percentage calculations, more things that are not even in the D&D system, and... Gah. No, seriously. I give up.

One last thing concerning archetypes: Am I the only one who does not get what the heck is elemental things to do with a bloodthirsty ravager? I guess it's totemic or something, but seriously, monks did better jobs at elemental archetypes.

About multiclassings... 18 Constitution and 15 in one of the four abilities? And all I get is a Survival proficiency?

Bah, it was a painful experience. I thought I can take something usable in the original version, but I was so, so wrong with it. Gotta make a new one from scratch. --WeirdoWhoever 03:20, 8 February 2017 (MST)

Concerning Reworks[edit]

So, another rework. It took me a while (and a Google search) before I realized that this was, although it seemed random at first, based on the class of the same name from the videogame Dofus. I have never played it before, but after skimming through wikias and all, I think I get the picture. The rest was a mad skimming through my good ol' PHB and UA archives.

It is dawn here, and I must be sleeping by now if it were not for my insomnia and caffeine-drenched nerves. If you have any comments to make on the rework, please feel free to leave them here. --WeirdoWhoever (talk) 12:15, 8 February 2017 (MST)

Just finished the rework - once again, if you have any comments to make, please feel free to leave them here. --WeirdoWhoever (talk) 20:46, 8 February 2017 (MST)
