Talk:Ring of the Wretched Hag (5e Equipment)
From D&D Wiki
Why would anyone wear this? The benefits are far outweighed by the detriments, and all require heavy DM adjudication. What counts as a "being younger than the wearer"? Does it have to be of the same species, or is it just anything younger than "the wearer"? SirSprinkles (talk) 21:30, 18 June 2017 (UTC)
Hello again SirSprinkles This is supposed to be a cursed item that is a net-detriment to the player but the thought behind the item was that this item could help explain for some mean old ladies being famously witch like despite them not actually being hags. I had a problem creating this in the correct area of the homebrew wiki due to the absence of the create item tab on the cursed item category page. I realized that the affects of the ring would be alot for a dm to handle in some situations which is why i added the clause the items magical properties only affect if the dm is aware of the ages of both parties involved or if the age of creatures was obvious or implied. Additionally i thought it would add some benefit due to the difficulty to remove this item to have it function on all creatures regardless of species differences (ie the ring would work on a eldritch horror that just hatched from an egg) Thank you again for your consideration and help on my homebrew wiki posts.
