Talk:Powerlifter (5e Feat)

Feats are supposed to give features as an alternative to a full +2 ability score increase (or give +1 to a stat and some features), not both. This feat would mean any character looking to increase his strength would always pick this feat instead of just an ability score increase.

In addition, by the rules as written, you don't actually make ability checks to push, pull, or lift objects. Your carrying capacity is usually just based on your Strength score. The DM can let you try to go beyond your usual abilities, but that's a house-ruling, so granting advantage may do nothing for characters.

Finally, "expertise" is not an actual game term, just the name for a class feature rogues and bards get that lets them add double their proficiency bonus in a chosen skill. I do actually like the idea though as part of this feat, it just needs to be reworded.

I'll go ahead and try to make some of those changes, but some of it will require some re-imagining.
