Talk:Path of the Beast-Nin (Shinobi World Supplement)

Hello. I wanted to ask if the Level 20 Fused form ability can be changed to NOT include the word "Large". There are very very few CR options, and none that would really work in a Naruto setting. I may also suggest increasing the CR above , because in a shinobi setting the PC levels often are much stronger than a CR of the same level. I'll keep checking in, but thanks regardless.

My current plans are to finish the handful of Sand characters I have left, then circle back to the Leaf characters I have yet to finish, starting with Shino and Kiba. When that happens, there will be a massive overhaul to this subclass so that abilities Kiba got at the end of part 1 aren't treated as equal to KCM, and so that all features work better within and without the setting.--Ref3rence (talk) 08:28, 14 November 2021 (MST)

Sounds Good. Other suggestions i can think of when you get back here would be: -In Companions Bond, change it to "Whenever you gain the Ability Score Improvement feature, your companion gains an Ability Score Improvement as well" to clarify they don't have to take the same specific stats you do. Maybe clarify that natural weapon attacks benefit from the Shinobi classes martial arts feature. Also there should be a way to increase the companions damage as they level. at level 20 a CR 1/2 creatures damage is very small. Maybe they get additional damage equal to the shinobi martial arts die on all physical attacks? -In Hive Body, maybe change the internal bug condition to Incapacitated or paralyzed. Also clarify any swarms sharing your space cannot be affected or damaged by anything, because they are in your body. otherwise one line aoe would wreck unconscious swarms and the shinobi. -maybe move Keen Senses to an earlier level. 10? -In Organized Swarms, maybe add or specify that swarms can hit any/all creatures in their squares, since bite is usually just one target because swarms usually are only medium, and should be able to hit anything in the swarm when bigger. Some kind of additional plus to hit and hp would make sense for a level 15 ability too.

When using the Two-Headed Beast feat there are some questions i have. with both the caster and their companion fusing into one creature, do their health pools join together or does it just use the caster's health pool? also, if there are any status effects such as exhaustion, poisoned, etc. on the companion, do they transfer over and continue to afflict the new combined form of the two? -CleverNot 19:51, 17 April 2023 (EST)

This has been clarified on-page using ruling from Combined Transformation.--Ref3rence (talk) 10:42, 18 April 2023 (MDT)

The 15th level ability seems a bit weak compared to other classes. Unless I'm reading it wrong is it just 3 chakra for your companion to do an basic attack, like a swipe from a large beast, as a bonus action? Whats the point when there are more options to do as bonus actions from this class?Sugar rush (talk) 23:26, 17 July 2023 (MDT)

It's intended, though not worded quite right, that your companion benefits from your Martial Arts and Extra Attack features, so at 15th level you can make 3 attacks for 8+ average damage each as an action, immediately followed by your companion making 3 attacks for 8+ average damage as a bonus action. There probably are better uses for bonus actions, but to my knowledge they all require other paths or spending chakra. Also, while not built into this path, I'm positive there are some big jutsu combos that can be pulled off with being able to make 6 attacks on a single turn without spending additional chakra to do so.--Ref3rence (talk) 23:48, 17 July 2023 (MDT)
